This makes making rules hard, seeing as anything you do to stop the 'PAY2MORDAI' makes it impossible for the perfectly respectable RPing pirates who can't stop the traders who just try to get away as fast as possible, which it is impossible to type while doing.
Quote: I disagree. The typical lolwuts want to make credits- they have no skills so they cannot make credits by pirating/NPC farming. So they go to trade/mine.
Any "perfectly respectable RPing pirate" can stop every trader in range- in the 95% of the cases.
I use /setmsg command typing /l1 /l2 /l3 is fast believe me. If the trader is rp able we have al least 5 minutes RP.I ask him questions like why you haul X for company X and they cannot answer me. If the trader try to silent run/dock /no engihnhj/ I SANCION u u junker/ I just make /l4 and /l5 then XXX was put out of action by XXX(Gun). It is all based on attitude. In 90% of the cases is Traders/Miners vs RP- believe me.
this and this:
Quote:they have no skills so they cannot make credits by pirating/NPC farming. So they go to trade/mine.
Are really different things. You twisted my post quoting only a part of it.I never said that the only respectable way of making credits is to pirate.I said that there are more lolwuts trading/mining then lolwut pirates. I said it because non-lolwuts tend to blast lolwut pirates so the lolwuts give away from pirating since they cannot make credits from it to buy battleship. So please stop to troll around, nobody like trolls.
And indeed yes RPing trader is the easest RP in the server, you are civilian hired by shipping company to bring goods from point A to point B.Repeat.

You completely missed the following sentences in my post.
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
You think thats trolling buddy? I havent even -started- to troll.
Frankly, from what I see, there are just as many lolwut pirates around as lolwut traders, and I would stake a....Steak, that they are played by the same people. And Govedo, I would say that you have no clue about what trader RP is, Since I can Degenerate Pirate RP to "You stop people and take muny/cargo", in the same way you degenerate trader RP. What you think trader RP is, is simply the Description of its profit generation activities.
' Wrote:I made this topic because i'm getting a bit tired of all those pirates who just say " Halt, pay or die ". Way too many are doing this. I often mine gold ore, and alot pirates just say : " Drop your gold ore " they pick it up, and they're off! RP? Not really... And if you tell them that they aren't RP'ing, they just destroy you! So i'm asking, will there ever be a " max demand "? And maybe it would be better if the sanctions on that non-RP pirating get higher.
Ug ... another anti-pirate thread. Do you know how many anti-pirate threads pop up here throughout a single month? Too many. Why are pirates ALWAYS treated like they are the ONLY group out there that are causing trouble? Why is it that nobody bothers looking at their own RP before casting judgment on others?
Please take into consideration that I've completely exhausted my brain coming up with interesting, unique and balanced role play ideas for piracy. And all I get is "die pirate" from the majority of the good guys out there (ie: hunters, mercs, lancers and other miscellaneous lawfuls). Funny how most mercs and lancers choose to support the lawfuls too. But anyway ... I tried all sorts of stuff ... and my demands are usually about 500k. I've made simple demands like 1 unit of food and 1 unit of water ... because I was hungry. But even when I asked for 1 unit of food and 1 unit of water ... the blasted trader STILL hit cruise and ran silent. Come on man give me a break!
I put up with a lot of crap from traders and I've heard lots of complaints about us pirates here in the forums. You ask for "rules" and "limits" to our role play ... but you traders keep on posting 10 mil and 50 mil bounties on our heads. That sort of behavior makes it real difficult for us to take you seriously. MAX DEMANDS? How about getting rid of GENERIC bounties? How about LOWERING your bounties? These threads are always one sided against pirates. How about NOT throwing all us pirates in the same barrel huh?
' Wrote:I know, there are also good pirates for example those [*] guys, who ask 30k for their concert, they're fun. I also met a guy who used dice for pirating. But there are still too many " lolwut " pirates.
And @ Vlko So because some traders/miners are being idiots pirates get more rights and are above the rules?
Some rules:
5.2 All attacks must be the result of some form of role play. "Engaging" is not sufficient.
6.6 Aggressors are not allowed to destroy a trade vessel prior to issuing a demand and allowing sufficient time to respond.
Many pirates forget that one and they barely give you some time.
Um ... what (note highlighted portion)? So because SOME pirates are idiots you wanna make a rule that basically affects ALL pirates?
I've been blown up with less role play. Some LNS guy blew me up in less than 30 seconds. The full extent of his role play was ... "Stop" ... "Ok die then" ... BOOM!!! What we do NOT need is one set of rules for the good guys and a completely (restricted) set of rules for the bad guys.
Yes there are lolwut pirates ... but there's also lolwut traders and miners. Why don't we LOWER the value of what miners get from mining? Instead of getting 13,000 credits for each unit of Gold Ore ... why not take a zero away and just give you 1,300 credits per unit? That'll never happen because then you'd get all sorts of complaints from miners that there's no incentive to mine.

Got fed up and logged off with my pirate, at least people talk with me on my salvager even the xenos who'd like to blast me out of space as quickly as possible. And that was the latest attempt to play a pirate on my part, someday i'll do it again, but not today it does not worth the effort nor pvp or rp wise.
I feel kind of special when I stop my cruise engine with pirates.
Ill rather start to talk with them and have fun then QQ away
in a totally ridiculous attempt to save some credits.
I like to talk about myself in general , to my cargo, or random things happening in my ships.
80% of the time, the pirates will ask a fair amount of credit and we will have both participated in a role play
event.
The other 20% , well.. I mimic them and I act like a oorp entity and believe in the respawn god. If you play like that, I am not doing any effort...
Of course, that does not mean that I like pirates, they are dangerous. If I am near an allied base, I will make use of it, but I avoid using jump gate and hole to escape.
Over the time I found out that trader are less likely to be victim of luolwut pirates then miners.
I have already talked about this game fact, and yes I wish everyone could speak a little bit more in the game, its the source of its fun in my opinion regardless of all the free violence.
I've been here for... a month or so? Do you want to know how many times I've seen these pirate rp flame threads? No, you don't.
Trade/Mine like a smart person. I'm very new, yet I know about a hundred tricks to get around pirates. Yes, even the 2milrdai pirates, they're the easiest.
Use your imagination, be Captain Kirk. Have you ever seen him NOT get out of a situation?
' Wrote:I have been pirating and trading much both.
When I was trading I met only few lolers pirates.
When I was pirating 1/10 traders had RP with me. Others just pushed cruise.
About this, I want to ask if this behavior is correctly regarding rules/RP:
1. Pirate shouting HALT
2. Me, a trader, first, I try to use cruise to escape
3. He CD's me
4. From this point forward, I do RP, see if I can meet his requirement. Follow the hints from forum etc.
Is blamable the fact that I first try to run and if I ain't able, RP accordingly? I think that Halt is not enough to stop and pay. PROVE that you deserve my money.
Am I wrong? To be clear, if I will be CD successful, OK, party can begun, pay the pirate....maybe not the sum he request if that is astronomical.

You are indeed right but you miss the point where the pirate must type something when you spamm cruise button in order to run. Thats why setmsgs are very useful. When you are CDed then the RP can begin.
