Gauss weapons are a soundless high speed very low refire rate weapon that suspends a projectile in the air through the use of magnetic fields, then propels it to incredible speeds by altering the magnetic fields in one end of the projectil.
true, the point of the matter is boiled down to the fact that a projectile is "launched" through a series of magnets.
That said, Ballistics would apply to the weapon, and in theory, yes, you could fire a railgun (not a gauss gun like mentioned above) as fast as you can put the projectiles in the tubes. BUT, that said, you STILL can refire a laser or a tachyon beam alot faster than manually loading shells into a magnetic tube. Hence why I say they should have a slower refire =)
EDIT: As to Gauss being soundless, Its only soundless until the projectile breaks the sound barrier. Then the projectile itself creates the sound. Also, I imagine a gauss weapon would require tremendous ammounts of energy, so the vibration of the plates within a transformer would make a humming aswell, but I also suppose its insignifigant unless the enemy has ultra hearing. Which then is the least of their worries cuz the projectile breaking the sound barrier would make their ear drums bleed =D
Like the idea of a rail gun, but my own personal preference would be to have more fast firing lelss damaging mass drivers, but if we had those, it'd break the game in other ways. If this gets implemented i'd still stick with light mortars, they're more forgiving than that railgun
I like idea of ammo.. something that would limit you in fight.. but I don't like idea of expensive ammo that would limit you in life and fun and everything else..

I was thinking if the refire of say a rail gun was 4.00-6.00, 80 rounds would be good, yea? likewise, 60 rounds top for the slow firing Gauss weapons.
I'll link the old topic we had.
I would love to see real rail guns here =) They could fit in perfect with Gallia.

Yes, I know it's extremely controversial, but hey. Worth a look at.
That's where I got the idea. I turned it from insanely overpowered into something more decent.
cloaks are definintely possible on a multiplayer basis, I've seen them implemented on many mods.
HOWEVER, the story line here so far states that cloaking devices are horribly innefficent and overly large. In otherwords, the only way its gonna work is if its put on a battleship. (except the nomads, who have it on every ship and some of the RM ships)
Although its a interesting concept, I doubt it'll work.
