He didn't complain to you because he dealt with it, and he's a nice guy. This player also lives in continental Europe, and he too, has a great connection. He got it just so that he could play FL. You were lagging on my screen too, but we didn't complain since we ended up taking you down - no point PMing you afterwards going:
Quote:YOU LAG GO UNINSTALL
That's mean and very impolite, because sometimes, internet service providers have hiccups, and sometimes, your perfect connection takes dives. We don't need you to compensate anyone, why? Because lag happens.
That's why lots of people here, including myself, think your thread is pointless and meanspirited.
Let's put it this way: You don't need to bow down to other players and say, "you're better than me" when they beat you with what you perceive to be lag.
But that doesn't mean that you should go and tell them off either. Instead, keep it to yourself, and know that you lost for reasons other than skill. Know that the outcome of a fight is not a good measure of the skill of a pilot.

The solution to this is simple and in the same time difficult.
It is simple because solution is already known and for a long time, tested and well implemented in thousands multiplayer games.
It is difficult because it is needed to change very base principle of freelancer server functioning, so only developers could do it, and then also i have no idea if modification of this sort can be done in this particular game (freelancer) or not, it depends on what current server code is and if there are sources available.
Solution is: server would only send one game-info-packet to the client at any given time, then server would wait for client's response. No client's response -- no more packets from server to the client.
This fixes all and any attempts to exploit any kind of lag in any way: as long as client "lags", he effectively cuts himself from the server, and thus is unable to exploit anything.
Let's hope something like this will be someday implemented for Disco.
Do you see the groundhog there? No? Me neither. But, it's there nonetheless.
Ping is the time it takes for your computer and the server to send data between each other. Higher is obviously worse as you will be seeing the server several milliseconds after someone with a lower ping.
Fluct seems to be linked to loss.
Loss seems to make chat take forever to show up. Other ships will also slide very long distances if you have high loss.
Lag is how much you jump around for other people.
This "guide" is simply what I see happening when I experience different levels of these. Keep in mind I have no idea what is actually going on.
I have a tasty connection giving me a ping of 350ms and 0 fluct, loss and lag. So my connection gives others a slight edge due to higher ping. I can still tangle with the pvp enthusiasts and last a fair amount of time.
Mass fighter fights bring my loss up dramatically, meaning I see lots and lots of sliding ships that razor me without fail.
If someone is lagging around and hitting you perfectly, well tough. This ain't a pvp server so it's not like it matters that much (if it was, I would definitely bring up some sort of lag kicker).
Disco is for RP, complaining about a pvp problem that won't change is pointless.
I'm pretty sure fluct is short for fluctuation. The higher it is, the more variable your ping is: for example, I usually have ping 50, fluct 5, but I'm running on a shared connection, so depending on what other computers are doing, I could be anywhere between 45 and 55 ping (or possibly 47.5 and 52.5, I'm not quite sure how the fluct is measured)
Lag can be a problem for both players involved. I definitely see people jumping around more when I'm lagging, and in a few cases I've ended up with lag so bad that I was basically playing a couple of minutes behind everyone else, targetting ships which end up destroyed before my "target so-and-so" message appears, and taking damage despite having decided that there was too much lag and sitting snugly by the Essex.
However, this is coming from the guy who ended up in a lag sweet-spot where I ended up completely immune to GB missiles. Admittedly the GB I was fighting would often lag past me while I was lining up a SNAC, but it was fun while it lasted.
Everyone laggs sometimes, even I living in Germany with 32 mbt connection...
This is not the problem. The most of the people around are reasonable and play nice respecting the others.
They pull back in such fights or just call it draw.

Indeed this is something that annoys me, I dont see any reason somebody needs to do so. BlueMsg and so on? Are they really so important? If you go 1v1 and the other is better/have lucky shot you loose period.
This tactic is more then lolwut because I play the game to have fun not to make records of retards who abuse the system to get advantage. I hate to make screens because they cause lagg too and one Full HD screen is 5-6 mb in order to upload them I need to resize them etc. Could someone offer a solution?
Some easier way to make screens witch are smaller or some way to prevent this tactic? And no dont tell me just to leave I know that I can do that exactly as good as starting my torrent program.....

I'd try downloading Irfanview (a free image viewer), opening the original screenshot and saving it as .jpg. Even with quality turned up to full it's about 10-15x more efficient for me, so I end up with 200-300kb sized images
