Well if you have taken your given liberty to read the first post you would find that there's 500 million worth of credits being donated to any interesting idea ANYONE wants to develop.
I will not participate in any way but with my experience in this game, and all factions / operations that happen will mostly be run by young fresh people that haven't been given a chance to try and make something on their own.
To each his own though.
Oh, and out of 5-6 players that have pitched their ideas one is a smuggling factions, one is something unseen so far and one isn't even a player but a mind hive cluster.

As from view of this character. He thinks that he found an wonderful enhancement in AI and after some upgrades, ZOIA will become a part of every big Zoner ship (capships). This dude is interested into recreating SCIOP| too: Here.
However, with a bit of his changes. Even he likes science... he's a investor more. So he's always looking for his own profit. If there's any chances to get these credits, they'll be invested into this idea.

what about to make something not so EPIC like all other factions?
like small, well organized group of civilians (why not to begin with a civilian ID? or we are so epic to use it?) who:
-may be a refugees from sirius`es hot spots (aka Leeds)
-may be nomadic (I dont mean alien) group of people in MK1 fighters (not epic), freighters who travel around sirius in searching of better life (or something else)
-may be a group of poor junkers who has one old slave liner as HQ\home and one-two salvagers and many other junker stuff, also nomadic (may be more semi-lawful or unlawful), maybe who travel ALL together in one big formation, and staying in system where stays HQ ship (also this idea may be interprited for AIs)
