Could someone please link me a sanction involving a freelancer/merc character whose RP was friendly to the Corsairs and flew a Titan or such?

It's fully within RP for an indy IDed character to be allied to a faction and purchase one of their refurbished ships. I know of a character who flew a Nephthys as a freelancer, had RP behind it, and never had a problem.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be good RP to coordinate with a Corsair faction, but not a necessity. Player factions cannot regulate each and every facet of the NPC faction's RP, thus, their ships. If a player's RP says they are friendly to said faction, and picked up one of that faction's ships, it's not up to another player to say that's untrue.

So, from what I understand, I'd have to ask a corsair player faction permission to buy a Titan, and if I can't do that I'd just better get another ship? I was thinking an Eagle if so.

I find it ridiculous that players can reject or deny a player a ship. Freelancers and mercs are a changling breed. One may be loyal to Liberty lawfuls, while another may be against them. If someone's RP dictates one of either scenarios, another player has no right to say yes or no to that RP.

Though it is not impossible to get the weapons/ships you want. Take a look HERE to see alot of players who have RP'd their way into their weapons. Whether the requests you make are an inRP request to get them (eg. by being friendly and doing things for the directed faction), or an oorp deal that relates to an event/events you RP'd (eg. you RP a 'stealing' of a ship/equipment, then contact the faction you 'stole' the equipment from and asking if they'll approve of this, though they normally wont.)

Though some things may seem like they don't make sense, you will find that it really does help improve game-play overall.

Oh yeah, Mafic is a beast, I used one armed with Debs and a SNAC as a Vigilante. Didn't need a CD because my main goal was to 'run off' the pirates, not to 'hunt' them to say. Was fun times:D
