I can't remember the last time I fought equal numbers.

I like being ganked because I have to work my ass off to survive and take the other people out. This goes for other games too, not just Disco. I just like a challenge, whether I succeed or not.

Best game ever.

If you don't want to be ganked, catch them away from their base and slaughter them. The more you kill, and the faster you kill them, the fewer you'll face at any one time.

This is true, honestly i know my previous posts make it out like i hate you all that gank and i get raped all the time by many folks and im fed up with it.

Personally i honestly dont mind getting ganked myself, i just hate the excuses people come away with when doing it. Using true to life crap in a game. When the true reason is they just dont like to loose, its character building folks, i dunno how - but its character building learn to cherish the loss.

Winning against a gank party makes the victory all the more sweeter in my opinion.

But hey i have said my piece, i highly doubt i will change anyones minds, Internet warriors dont get anywhere and all that. I just felt what i said had to be highlighted. - Ciao!

Did I say something about "PLEASE 1 VS 1"?

I said only 4 fighters are already enough for a single spatial.

and it doesn't matter factions station or system or whatever.

Btw thank you Lohingren.

That would be the most ideal situation. Problem with that being that once people get better in fighting, they usually leave for a more combat oriented faction, be it lawful or unlawful.

' Wrote:And what if the attackers show you the courtesy of not being idiots when you attack? Lets face it, your just hiding behind 'true to life tactics' in a "Computer game" If a faction hits you with 5 fighters, dont go firing out 5 battleships to take them on. Thats just lame. It shows that said faction is really sore loosers, or even scared.
Well. Look at it from our point of view. When we meet 5 fighters with 5 fighters, we're wiped out in under a few minutes. Which means those players can't mine in the mining systems for 4 hours. Most of the time that's the rest of their playing time on Disco for the day. Yea, we're scared to get locked out of the system for a few hours, because then we can't invite those faction members in on the group mining efforts that we often do.

As for courtesy. I can't count the amount of times where I just held back our people when a single roc came fishing near the mining fields, seemingly passive. Within minutes there are 2, then 3... and then -we- become the gankee. Being courteous usually results in you becoming a blue message. Harsh, but that's the way this community has grown. I prefer to roleplay out an encounter rather then it ending up in an imbalanced slugging match - but it just never works out that way.

Two powergamers doesn't make an encounter.

I can see your point of view, dont get me wrong. I have had this happen to me many times before... but i still and will always do it.

The way i see it, if you truly hold onto that belief of play fair etc, then preach it, not just when you feel like it. In the end if we all jump on the "He done it so i will to" Mentality, in 10 years time, we will be ramming jumbo jets into cities, Japan will be nuking countries, Vietnamese will be the new invaders, Scotland will invade England, the list goes on.

I just wish people would play the game fair, if they get ganked themselves, still hold onto their beliefs instead of hoping on the bandwagon.

EDIT:

"but that's the way this community has grown."

Soooooo, joining in on the fun is a way to make it mature? Tis not the mentality to have when ya want things to change. And honestly i highly doubt anyone truly likes gank fests, they may not mind them, but i highly doubt they enjoy it.

If you are dumb enough to attack the IMG near their base you deserve to be ganked. If you are dumb enough to attack them knowing they have the advantage you deserve to be ganked.

If you don't flee when you notice their numbers have doubled, you deserve the incoming gank. All I see when I see people complaining about ganks is that they didn't have fun because they lost the fight. Best way to prevent a gank? Run when you see it starting to turn into one.

If you want a good one on one, why are you attacking a mining or trading faction? Typically they don't have great PvP pilots. You're doing it because you want an easy kill, just so happens this group is using a tactic you don't like because it makes them a difficult kill. Stop QQ'n and get yourself a force strong enough to wreck 'em.

What would really be considered a gank?

What if it's four newbies against say an ace. The newbies have the numbers, but the ace can slaughter them easily. Who's really ganking who? Is the gankee whoever has the least chance of winning?

Or maybe it's a newbie in a Battleship attacking two aces in bombers. The aces can easily slaughter the battleship, if only because they're more experienced, and the newbie is unlikely to be able to fight back effectively. Of course, the aces could always pull back, but they usually chose not to.

Personally, I see no problem with using numbers to compensate for a lack of ability. The enemy always has the option to retreat, and yet pride doesn't allow them to do that. Even with the new rules that say you can retreat and not be locked out of the system.

In other words.

Suck it up Bambi. Space is dangerous.

It goes both ways too mind you. The Ganker could easily become the Gankee. Which is what keeps this game interesting.

Sorry for the Delay , I wasn't aware this was made cuz of the previous fights. (rofl)

As for the events of Yesterday , Honestly .... Lulsy.
But i'll tell you what i think about Gank. I used to be really pissed off at it.
Rage quit pissed off.
But , Not anymore. I honestly don't care Even tho its 1 (One) Vs. 3 Zephyrs , 2 GBs and Endless waves of Lolonials.

Its K.

But try use your brains once in a while ..Si ? ( Since RP is your game )

Why should i call for 2 Gunboats and 2 More Zephyrs ?

Why should i Use this Stupid amount of resources ( Such as Fuel )( And the Unstoppable Missile Swarm) to destroy 1 (One) Eagle?

Makes no sense RP wise.

But again , I don't care about Ganks anymore , Gank and be Ganked later on.

I'am only saying this because you brought that up , because Now days? Pfff. I really don't care anymore.

Edit: I just state some facts when people seem blind.

I approve of dying in a space-shooting computer game.

Keep up the good work.

Yo Carsten, while the reasoning is sound, as in -

"meh off, we are here for fun too and we aren't OP people in OP ships"

It got me bastilled. (Granted, because I hit back too hard)

If there's some particularly tenacious bunch after you, don't feed them as you wouldn't feed their forum-based equivalents.

And as far as Panzer's RP is concerned - Relying on any one advantage makes you vulnerable. Skill is vulnerable to bad luck, numbers are vulnerable to chaos. I prefer to have some of both so that I don't have to take any chances.
