But that makes no RP sense... I don't get you, Nom.

That's why I suggested respawns for snubs only, and 2 hour rule for capital ships. Read the whole post, seriously. Also, let's not touch mixed skill fights for now, because it is not in the subject. I do have a thought about them, but let's stay on some sort of course.

Sorry, for me instant respawn is not acceptable in iRP environment (unless it is an event). And personally I think that old 4 hour rule was good. Besides, I don't think that everyone is going to gladly jump into a PvP at every occasion. And re-balansing snubs to the low-armor-high-damage end will make escapes harder. Not only skilled PvPers fly snubs, and not only PvPers fly them too.

Simple isn't it? Swallow gets it. Just isn't support for fair play as well as Roleplay on this server and this topic should never be brough up again. Events yah whatever rules come up in that event.

.... im simply agreeing that 2 hours should not be dependent on someone's skill or ship type.
2 hours is the standard

For one thing there is too much to consider and it is simple this way

for another thing inRP your ship is damaged/broken

And another thing is that if snubs dont get the 2 hours then they will become overpowered and kill caps very easy becasue they will respawn back to finish the job while a cap is still trying to dock and repair itself.

This game isn't Planet Side 2 where spawning is literally just 10 seconds

Nom is correct that 2 hours should be standardized.

Snubs are evil yes

I believe, and this may be old by now, you can leave the battle to repair and come back, but if you die you cannot come back. Old days, if not true today.

What if it could be....what if...we can type /back, and go back to our death point lets make it for caps only O:

The point about broken things is that to fix one you have to fix everything else. Numerous times. It is an iterative process and when your solution converges up to the point when everything looks smooth and balanced - you will find the broken item fixed, the working items fixed, and overall things being different from what they have been initially.

I honestly thought that you will write something like "
What if it could be....what if...we can type /back, and go back to good old days of .84/.85, etc."

Well... 1st off... how would one make a thread about commenting/explaining the rules without an opinion on the rules and what they mean?
2nd... I can re-write it if people are interested. Np in making it a less silly thread to explain.
3rd. The opinion is based on basically : How bad will it be if this rule is take away. It is a way of showing just how important the rules are and why they shouldnt be less of them...
So no... i am not arguing for change... I am arguing to explain they are there for the survival of the server.

But common the sig requirements for size are stupppiiddd TonguePPP (jks)
I get that there needs to be a standard size an all.... but sometimes it is too small Q.Q

That's my only real bias in the whole thread pretty much x

There's a difference between having a bias and having a heavily opinionated comment or view on something. Also again I can't take you seriously with how you type.

You can easily make a thread commenting on the rules and actually giving a proper look at it, what's good and what's bad, maybe a change, why it might be needed, etc. Most of it looks like a text I would get from my twelve year old cousin with the number of emotes and ellipsis you have going on.

Basically,
4/10 thread
2/10 thread with rice

Examples:
5v5 fight that normally would take 15 minutes to conclude.

5v5 fight lasts one hour, why? Because the pilots are all aces and know how to endurance fight. Completely sane and reasonable.

5v5 fights last one hour, why? Because dips keep respawning and reentering a fight that should have only lasted 15 minutes.

That's why allowing people to reenter a fight they died from is a bad idea.

Wrong.

No 5 v 5 fight ive ever seen has ever taken 15 minutes to end unless one side had all the "Aces" and completely dumpstered the opposition.

5v5 fights between aces take a little longer than that but still FAR less time to conclude than 5v5 fights with total amatures, because the attrition rate is so much higher, everyone dies at a much faster rate, in laymans terms. these fights would only take a long time because other people keep piling into the fight on both sides (because activity is a snowballing effect, if there are more people ingame in a fight they can join then the more people will log in to take part.)

and honestly im not sure that people would keep respawning into the same battle, certainly not any of the "Aces" I know, none would bother.

thread was not ment to become pinned and just easy to read.
also done in a hurry.
Yes. i can easily make this thread better. Like i have stated for the 10th time. I get it. I said it myself without you telling me that this thread isnt professional FROM THE START.

geeze

Edit: You problem from what I see is that I could have made a thread to explain and I didnt.
Sorry but that was not even the original intention. Like I KEEP SAYING the intention is to show that the rules are there for a reason.
in doing so I had to explain.

so yes I can make a more professional post to explain the rules and im down for that....

and yes i can agree with what you are saying

but seriously to come here and critisize that I should have done one thing and not the other is a bit annoying when i have already said otherwise.

Just to point out, the 2 hour rule (originally 4) isn't just to stop people re-engaging in long fights. It's also a way to control space. A good example would be lawful and pirate interaction. If lawfuls can catch and kill a pirate, they've secured the area for 2 hours and made it safer for traders. If there's no way of doing that, fighting the pirate/defeating the raid/securing a mining zone is entirely pointless seeing as that blue/docking message has absolutely no effect on the wider game environment.

I played for a year with just one rule: Be nice and when in doubt, don't do anything offensive.
Worked.

The "too many rules" is more of an excuse, imo.
It's really not hard to survive without them if you do not behave like an idiot.

What is true is: the fine points and implications of the rules are hard to master.
But: even when reading the rules as a newbie, he would not understand the pitfalls. So... *shrugs*... just play nice and hope that you do not meet some of the asses who love to sanction people for nothing.
