"Kill me" and firing back does seem to be some sort of RP, maybe they thought they had a chance and nothing else to lose faced with that demand, plenty of transports do.

Sometimes I wonder how the hell you became an admin. But hey, I mean, good thing Toris didn't tell the person to shut up, right?

Sorry. But you are deadly wrong. I have around 890 Hours with my tradingship now and Bats and bots saved my life more than i can count. In the Niob Field in Leeds when i tried to run to Stokes from angry Bretonian fellas during the Kusari Bretonia war for example. So as long as you are not more than, let's say, 30k away from a Station a normal Transport is more than able to survive with Bats/Bots against a lonely pirate. In a Battletransport like the Akegata or Bison you are more than able to defend yourself. I guess you've never seen the [Convoy] dudes with their Shire's? Good old times.

I have to disagree here. In this special case it's unacceptable. First a '?' then 'nop' , 'Spa' and then a 'kill me' ? Not to mention that a 'kill me' from a Transport Captain, who is responsible for his Corperations ship and who is clearly responsible for his crew's life, sounds not very in RP to me.
About the OP. Hell, I've seen worse RP or even no RP from a Trader. We all have seen something like this happen i guess. It happend in the past and it will happen in the future i am sure. There is really no need to make a thread like this about it. But here we are. Paying attention to it.
And to answer Toris question. No. First a '?' then 'nop' , 'Spa' and then a 'kill me' is not acceptable. And it shouldn't be. Like i mentioned above. Though Toris RP isn't exactly a high standard in-RP in this case. But how you should react when you get only a few lines and then pew pew?
Oh, the good ol' "roleplay vs fairplay" quality bullcrap again? I tend to disagree with Toris on many things, yet here I share his view on the encounter. I see we have stuff among Server Rules like this:
Quote:2. Discovery Freelancer 24/7 RP is a roleplaying server. Roleplaying is required while playing here.
But looking three posts above mine I fear the Staff's standards defining the term "roleplay" have been on the decline lately. Hopefully it's actually not all of them.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TUNICLE WHAT ARE YOU SAYING! :S
When a transport says 'kill me' it is oorp transport anger. They are oorp ready then to go back and start their power trading from last place they docked.
Anyone who has pirated knows this.
After all trading from the last docked place will be much faster than returning the whole way. It would be just a waste of time. The thing is he could have RPed this attitude in a different way. The guys should have RPed to try to save the cargo, but pay a bit. It sometimes works, but it doesn't mean everyone knows it.
And yes, full cargo piracy is the worst one that could happen. It's killing trader-pirate interactions, to be honest.
I've been pirated by some of the best, and , sadly, some of the worst on here. If a pirate demands that you drop all 3k+ cargo, and he is alone , in a snub, that pirate deserves the R.Noggin award because he is only hoping for the blue. Any pirate that has all of his messages pre-programmed , and waits about 3 seconds between lines of text before shooting is also eligible for the Noggin award. Some of us , myself included, do NOT have messages macro'd....I type everything out. And typing takes time......Pirate gets bored after 12 seconds and starts shooting. Since by that point its obvious he only is only interested in the blue , I'll dump and destroy everything, cargo, ammo ,all of it. I'll use every bot and batt. He will get his blue....and nothing else.
On the other hand , I have been pirated by some good ones , interested in the rp aspects of the game....the pirate has followed me part way to my destination , we tell stories ,talk politics , whatever....and these types of encounters usually wind up with the pirate getting what he asked for , he will also get a bonus for the rp...that's just how I roll. Some players on here do not have English for their primary language , so they have to translate the message , then figure out a response to the pirate. Problem with that , is the pirate is worried about the trader calling for help , and just shoots him for "taking too long to respond".
I've been here long enough to see both extreems for pirates....some of you will remember the Platinum ore runs from Penny back in the day...some of you were miners / traders.......and some of you were the noggin pirate types. Those were dark days for Disco........very dark days.
The next time you pirate someone......put yourself in THEIR shoes for a minute and re-examine the situation , and see if YOU would like to be pirated in this manner.....IF you are only interested in the blue , I would suggest a trip to Conn.....you can get all the blues you want.
To the guys who still thinks I was doing piracy in a snub (and it annoyed me so much I had to log non-RP account):

And no. I am not interested into blues, because if I was interested into blues I would pick up Xeno ID and roleplay purging Liberty from foreign traders, which aren't that rare sight.
Here, explained. Now I can de-log this account and not to bother myself with any further discussion regarding everything, since even proper roleplaying gets shunned upon.
Actually lvl 70 something is a typical one for new guys who earned enough to get a transport. Not everyone who owns a 5ker has at least average RP experience. Bah, there are battleship owners with merely any RP skills. Also, if you find his behaviour problematic, why didn't you just poked him with a //ooRP conversation to clear it out and try to get his point? It isn't always necessary to speak with the whole community, just try to speak with him, explain A and B. I've personally killed some lolwutty pirates who were new here (that's why I'm usually speaking with everyone who's at least a bit lolwutty), some people will ignore you, but some will thank for help, and who knows, maybe they will be your future disco friends?
