It would really benefit new players who have no idea how dangerous SNAC/Nova is against their transports. And it would provide more leeway for pirates to coerce unarmored transports instead of instakilling them.
Just warn them that they are going to die in 1 hit if they don't pay and that they should buy an armor later if they don't want to be insta'd. Armor is cheap nowadays.

Verbal warnings don't work, which is why this thread is a thing.
I just think preventing transports being insta-killed is a good thing, considering their vulnerable position in Disco's eco-system. This is very pro-trader thing I am proposing.
Like dang, people. Eat that extra 80,000 credits or whatever per trip and buy yourself an AU8. It'll keep your ass alive longer to contemplate your horrendous mistakes if you don't give the pirate a tiny fraction of your profit.
Eventually you'll have the sense to run an AU8 and pay the man.

POB suppliers like 5000 number. For example, I am planning on getting "unique" Ageira Bison with texture change and 85 cargo increase, so it has 4000 cargo after CAU8

Exactly that. If you need to bring 10k of something, you just wont fly 3 times, if you can fly 2 times. Also it is a nice round number, which is always a good thing.

+1

If verbal does not work, shoot them to bits then.
And I as transport pilot think otherwise. You fly without armor, you deserve to die.

-Hull is still increased,
-Pirate transports can still pirate and partialy repair them selfs,
-newbies more protected,
- full 5000 cargo traders will be in same boat ask before, no change there, except that now they're dont have to buy bits,
-little Cheaper repairs (you dont have to buy 200k worth bits after death anymore),
-With minimum bits reserve transport cant instantly Fully repair, buy only made imergency repair, which is more realistic,
-And one more thing, looks like docking modules can be functional in near future, if we Completly remove bits from transports, snubs cant suplay from them anymore at al, this way they can, once.
Like buying nanobots is a problem at all, you have /autobuy bb and they are dirty cheap.
The only thing I kinda like is the more realistic way of repairing, but you would still have it on other ship types, so ...
If anything, death should be way more punishing, so we get rid of this "kill me it is cheaper" nonsense. Maybe the sentence itself should warrant a ban. But then everyone would be just silent instead I guess.
Just make Transport nanobots, 10x more expensive, repairs 2x more.
I like the idea, but I also like having nanobots when I'm in a heavily radioactive or otherwise ship-melting area.
But with the base armour increase, it wouldn't really matter, would it?

number wise no, it wont change anything.
but something like "you did not manage to hit the nanobot button before your ship melts" would not happen anymore along with "you just saved yourself by hitting the nanobot button just before your ship melts"

But it wouldn't matter either way?
Plus transports' ability to survive would really go up.
