Mjolnir I am NOT complaining about being shot at. I am complaining about being shot at less than five minutes after undocking. That is the issue, not whether we get shot at all. Which is fine and dandy.

Oh and I signed that treaty as the President of Liberty, I did not take into account anything the Rogues would have thought, as the President wouldn't have given a toss about the Rogues. The two RP's are totally separate.

Oh and hit and run along TL's, that is bang on. If we're pirating and we get to shoot down a Navy patrol, we move on. as the fully justified response is to send something bigger. That is fine as well. No complaints at all about those tactics being employed. As I would employ them myself.

Look, folks, you're arguing semantics and basic human psychology here. The one simple truth is, people will be where people are. The only thing that can separate a mass, group of people or whatnot, is a very charismatic person that can lead them away or an event that would result in that mass dividing or dissolving itself. The fact remains, you can't and won't change Liberty. There are some jewels around other places, RM, RHA, Keepers, ROS, and other factions that are active in their respective space, and that's all fine and dandy, but they are there because they've been lead there by an idea, or a very powerful leader of their faction who truly does have their loyalty and respect. And Liberty, you can call it a cesspit or whatever you want, but you cannot change it. If we say, closed Liberty down, this would just move to Rheinland, or Bretonia, or Kusari. People will in 95% cases follow another group of people. So instead of trying to change this, why not just accept the fact that this is how we were designed by mother nature or god or whoever the hell you believe in. This will not change, this rant will not help anyone except get people to argue with each other. Enjoy the game, enjoy your life, and look a bit in yourself and try to figure out what I said here, and you might realize that it is in fact..the truth.

It does go both ways. It is about balance I think.

Liberty is a mixed bag for pirates and lawfulls. The balance can shift sooo fast. One min you could be getting chased down in your GS by a LABC and a few bombers to having a couple friends turn up and swing it the other way. There are a ton of traders to stop and have fun with and at the same time there are a lot of lawfuls to assist those traders. It is hard to say which ones are doing the over kill with even a few instances because both sides do it.

I think it is about keeping it fun. The LN has made some major strides with this as of late and I appriciate it playing lawfuls and unlawfulls.

Liberty does get crowded, if it is too crazy, the other houses are getting pretty popular too, if just a few show up.

I couldn't be bothered to read everything because you all were creating major lulz for me,
so I'd just like to say first that I don't mean to offend anyone, even though I propably will.
First and foremost:

Oh yeah, life's hard. Now you can either work, which means investing time and your sanity to make the situation better for all your respective groups,
which in turn would be like OH GOD NO REAL BAD! Because time spent doing work is TIME SPENT NOT RANTING!

What Titan and Joe said however I can agree with in general.
But let's give you a little story here, since I play on both sides of the law in Liberty and all.

It was a long, long time ago, I can still remember... in the land of Lulzerty.
There were those guys who called themselves Hellfury Spartans... or Hellcake Legion.
And there was that Royal Libertonian Navy.

Those two groups had been like fighting and lolplaying and stuff.
It usually was a lot of fun for everyone.
Until the EVIL NASTY MEANIES showed up to ruin the fun in every little encounter.
Be it the dreaded Funboats of Dragonfire or the terrific Cattlebruiser demons from outer space, something would always make the party go downhill.

Until one day some of the kings of both lands stepped forward, propelled by the holy light shining out of their Rear Ends of Sitting +2.
The mighty kings shook their fists in anger at the EVIL NASTY MEANIES, and they decided that something had to be done.
And so they met for a long night of excessive hardcore partying.
After said party they decided to be good to eachother, and to do whatever their Roaring Vocal Chords of Yelling +4 would allow them to have EVIL NASTY MEANIES bugger off during the fun parties they had together.
And they made sure that the parties would be fun for them by also agreeing to not act like doltnuggets on them. By drinking responsibly.

Since this day, their parties in Lulzerty have always been MEGA AWESOME, and people dream that they will continue to be so until Zeus' sets his Mighty Foot of Squishing +6 on Lulzerty.

In short: Yes, it will always be a hellhole. No, you can't make it shiny for everyone. Yes, factions can make it shiny for eachother or atleast TRY doing so.
Results may vary. Please consult your doctor if you suddenly go nuts or your face looks like THIS.

And with that good children, I shall pull my magic lever. Anything you throw in my direction will be ignored.
HAVE A NICE DAY ON DISCOVERY!

Btw, an alternate solution if caps're your problem is to MASS BOMBERS.

You also have to appreciate how annoying the gunboat swarm is. I know Del that you've seen how it can ruin people's gameplay.

Agreed.

LR could always try to pirate Cortez and Magellan, from the rogue base there, if you get cap swarmed, the LH gunboats can give you a hand, BAF will provide ample RP and fair PVP (shooting templars and challengers, aint much fairer than that). goes for official LN too, the border worlds were not intended for caps patrols, so the indiecapwhores should not be there.

in return, no dragonfly gunboats, ok.. dragonfly's are RP'd, i get it, but anything from kusari absolutely taints pvp as a whole, that house is just a hellhole of imbalance that both sides of the house are balanced against eachother on a wild spiral of strength that makes other houses look weak in comparison (ok, perhaps an overstatement..).

only problem with this, is that damned jump hole in Magellan to leeds, its just wrong, it should be removed/locked, traders going to a jump hole for a shortcut is obviously no good, and I know the NB hole is removed, but this one should go also.

with this, you may use tradelane halting (lane hackers????) and then LN/BAF patrols may be focused on trade lanes so there is no base camping.

....perhas just wishful thinking.

Moderation notice: If you're not interested in the subject as it's being discussed on this thread or any other for that matter, you don't HAVE to manifest just for the sake of it. Specially through randomness. Just resist the urge to read the topic at all and, more important, don't spam it. There's a game to be played out there.

Well, reading through the thread it's pretty clear to me that the source of this problem is the indies.. *Shrug*

Anyway, the only solution that I've found to work is my cruise engines. Seriously, what else can we do apart from imposing more rules and restrictions?

Of course you could just say 'Screw this', make a starflier and take over Sirius. Oh wait..

I'm so sorry, does this sound at all ANYTHING like the comments that have been made about the Bounty Hunters?

Not to turn this into a BH thread - as Athenian said, we tend to stay the hell out of New York. Currently we have ONE ship authorized to work in New York, and most of the time, I'm the one that flies it. I saw a combat going on last night and since I couldn't collect the bounty - it was on a MAF pilot in a bomber - I just made a few comments to the guys involved in the combat and kept on flying.

It goes both ways, in fact usualy the times I'm on, the few lawfuls on always get calls all over the place constantly..

LR in Cali, LH in texas, xenos in newyork...

Fleet of missile boats swarming manhattan.
