' Wrote:List makes sense to me. Glad to see that everything that needed to get in did get in. Kudos to all the people involved in getting this stuff modelled/textured/hitboxed/all that fun stuff.
Why do I have the feeling you are talking about those Hellfire ships you made ??? Oh yeah, that's really useful..
Quote:im sorry, is that a rhetorical question? because you answered yourself there i'd say.
No , this is a question with some things behind it ... like if there are 5 modelers, who are favourites of the dev team and such, and others shouldn't even try or not ... this was the main idea of my question ...
What Seth said. On top of that, yes, I would consider the HF and CR things that got in to be "the most important", since they'll no longer have to leech off the IMG and LH, respectively. If it really makes you feel any better, I'm working on a batch of civ stuff as we speak. It ain't about favorites.
' Wrote:Oldum, it's not that there are favourites, it's that the old people know how to get their ships in, while the new people don't.
I try and offer in most new threads to help people get their models ingame, but really there is currently no clear way to get your ship into the mod.
I understand this, however I wonder if new people who submit something of their work get denied, do they get to know why? or just get thrown into the bin with their ideas ?
Okay, I know people who learned this in school or something know a lot more about this then I'll ever do, but I feel like I shouldn't even bother with things, cause my stuff would end up in a bid no matter what ...
transparency is hard to come by - especially in systems that are rather opaque by itself ( like devs that work on many many threads of a whole - usually don t even have a clue about the "whole" thing itself )
now - specificly - why a ship gets in and why not...
sometimes - its just impossible to inform a modeller about the reasons why her/his ship doesn t show up. - in that case - its reasonable to ask someone that is in charge - like frozen, mjolnir *shrug* anyone prominent within the dev team that might know.
just cause you re not informed doesn t mean you re not meant to be informed - ppl simply forget stuff, too.
general reasons why s hips are not there:
- the quality turns out to be rather bad
- the ship has too many bugs ( happened with my hitboxes - in that case, you ll have to grovel before those that can fix it )
- the ship is great and all - but the faction simply doesn t need it ( like for example - a super liberty dreadnought with mega ultra )
- the ship was uploaded, presented - - - and then simply forgotten ( yea, there re humans working.... they can forget stuff )
- the ship is somewhat well done - but simply doesn t fit in
in any case - reasons for a ship / model for being rejected are never secret - they can always be PMed - but don t expect a public thread about why ships got rejected.
however - "rejected" is quite a strong ( yet fitting ) term - there are rather few rejects - there are some ships that some people are reluctant to include ( uhh - like yet another zoner ship ) - but all in all ... all "well done" submissions are seriously considered and usually also included.
' Wrote:No Oldum, it never gets denied because it never gets submitted. We're not throwing out stuff we never receive, please stop painting us as bad guys.
I never ment to do that , sorry for it , I just wonder if it's worth for someone who's totally new to these things to try and make everything that is needed to submit a ship , or shouldn't bother, cause it's quality probably won't meet the demands ...
