I have played rpg's for some time and mmorgs like everquest online for the ps2 and final fantasy and now freelancer and what they all have in common is ppl who are a pest in whatever they play in. Could be a tugboat and still be a bad player. I think patience though is key cause getting upset and going into a rage don't help my nephew had adhd and he really gets upset and their was a time when i did. I felt like throwing the computer out the window or reaching through the phone line and choking someone but this is a game and it happens in fantasy and real life. I would hate to see world of warcraft and with all the players on there. Bound to be a little strife between players. I think moms say it best if you get upset spend some time away from the computer to cool down its only a game . Sometimes a rest can clear your mind. Lord knows everyone has their moments .:nyam:
I like that song i have had my moments days in the sun moments when i was second to none moments when i thought i could not make it through like the day on the e street bridge when a young man almost ended it i have had my moments when i thought i could not make it through and i have had my moments when i lost dad and my mom had a nervous break down and would not eat and my sister came home and i took care of both of them and could not greave over dad cause i had to be strong for mom and my sister so life is no box of hershey kisses more than being attacked by a herd of wild pigs .
Honestly, moveing the ships is cool, question is why are all of you complaining about " To many capital ships? "
Everyones allowed one Cap class ship right, well you hundreds of accounts on the server, allowed one, ummmm so what? Everyone has the right to get one, if they choose to play it more than there other ships ok, there allowed to its there ship, they invested the time and money to get it they should be allowed to play it.
How would u guys feal, after you traded for a billion creds, bought your ship got your licence thing, armour upgrades, weapons, all that hard work, then some guy say " You can't use your Zoner Dread cause people complained there where to many "......pretty lame

My "original" rant was not about the number of Capships, merely expressing my irritation that "Pirate X" can somehow get his sticky fingers on a Zoner Destroyer or Juggernaut.
The numerous examples of similar OORP ships presented so far seem to prove that point.
I don't claim that placing caps in guard systems.. I believe someone stipulated Destroyers and up.. will completely solve this problem. I just feel it's a darn good start in making folk do at least some work other than amassing the needed cash to get them.

Dear "Epiphany,":)
Please, never return to those shadows for your eloquence and banter is needed, more than ever:)In addition, those were goodtimes and your steadfastness at my time of need was truly heartening and remembered with fondness. How I miss those dynamic, and wonderous, days. Hope we may regain them soon and, I pray, to see ya within the VOID.

I wouldn't trade to get a billion creds for a battleship unless there was a good reason to have one. Currently, I can't think of any reason in any sort of roleplay fashion for me to have one.
Is trading for days on end a way out of roleplaying?
"Yeah, I know cap-ships would never get spammed like this in any reasonable fashion... but I traded for ages!"
Hello All,
I know I don't post much and have little time to read the forum... so I hope I am not too far off base.
It seems that we need to make the purchasing process more realistic. So I had an idea, what if we made players go through the admins to buy an ID. Meaning that a character would have to meet certain requirements (i.e. registered on the forum, faction approval, credits, rep, etc.) to buy a specific ID. Assuming that a new player would have avenues with a Civ ID to reach these requirements.
Then in order to buy higher level ships (like cap ships) a character would require specific ID's and/or faction membership. Then you don't have to hide the cap ships. In reality the cap ships would be at the ship yards (as someone mentioned).
I know... alot of details to work out. Maybe its a start of an idea we could build on?
Why not make it so that if you aren't affiliated with a group (clan, not your ID) you can't own anything bigger than a gunboat?
For instance, an independant corsair can't own an Osiris, but a [TBH] Member can.
With limitations of course.
This would (in theory) encourage more factions and less "I'm my own man" people.
Putting everything into gaurd systems wouldn't help and it'd just cause people to go with the factions that DO have capships. Smaller groups such as GMG, GC and so on are left with two options a) Attempt to fight the tougher foes and die all the time b) join them.
Freelancer - especially discovery - is escalation. Starts out with fighters/gunboats and then along come the big guns.

Because then you have just killed the main spirit of the game...remember what the name is?......Freelancer

Gaf said the main reason. Also the point of this mod was to unlock things for the players. Like able to fly the capships, the transports, and enter unlocked systems from the storyline. We've expanded farther now, obviously. Plus, Igiss has already said no to the restricting of caps, even just battleships, to factions. Some BS owners have very good reasons and very good RPs for their battleships. One example is Epyon's Fantasia.

Not completely true. For one, GMG are almost allied to the Kusari government. Doing their mission will help you towards getting the KNF/KSP guards neutral. Same for alot of other factions, like GC could get access to Blood Dragon capital ships. BTW, there are some people who don't care about the capships, and be certain factions to just be them. For example, I have both a Golden Chrysanthemum and a Bundschuh character. Now I have two Bundschuh, one has a Red Hessian Cruiser (allies), but that was made about 3 weeks ago, the fighter character was made about 2 years ago.. And I only bought the cruiser because I keep getting cap spammed in my fighter. This was proved true again today in New Berlin.. After about 20 minutes I was facing 3 RM, 2 RepEx (all 5 fighters). The thing was, at the 5 minute mark there was also a DW tagged Bounty Hunter BATTLESHIP. A battleship after a single Sabre when I'd already been fighting 1 RepEx and 1 RM Wrath. I got away from him (used The Ring as cover, he gave up) just to find myself against a Liberty Gunboat and a Kusari Explorer (Gunboat class ship). Later a Bounty Hunter BATTLECRUISER comes.. My side had 2 VHFs, 1 HF, and 1 GB that came in about half way through the hour long fight. And by the end there were about 4-5 RM (Would you guys stop spamming me with numbers?! >.<). So, if we had less capships out there, less people would need capships, and hence, less capships would be used. If I didn't keep running into this situation, I wouldn't have a cruiser for my Wraiths. And there a lot more situations like mine that causes people to get capships.
Lots of Outcasts don't like using gunboats and destroyers, but they have to now because every single Corsair battle, the Corsairs have half their entire force as gunboats (unless your fighting a group who's majority belongs to TBH, they use more fighters), and almost always, in ever fight, the Corsairs bring in an Osiris. This is of course when they have their own battleship, but no, gotta have an Osiris and gotta use it always..
These problems don't decrease the use of caps, but increase it.. Moving ships to guard systems WILL decrease the number of them.
Hey i've seen guys with police tags trading cardamine in New York, took a screenie....guys with no I.D just hanging out , took a screenie.......and so much for the curbing OCC.
C'mon people try a little harder, takes a little bit to shake a Tag sometimes but at least get your I.D to match.
And also try to learn the rules...find out who you are affiliated with, do a bit of homework.
TAGS ARE THERE TO SHOW WHO YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH!!!!...... So stop shooting down your allies, stop trading drugs as cops and sort your chat out to at least be on a private chanel if it is about whats for dinner.
Get to it lads! Makes the game better :yahoo:
