AGS has two IDs, Unioner and LWB.

Just sayin'.

EDIT: Tehn again, this is a case of 1 ID per faction.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

i quote them again
do you really want to have 10 official zoner/zoner-like factions for every npc faction?
it would end bad, and then the same rule for 1 faction/ID would be brought back, if this rule will actually be removed (which is very unlikely)

you have valid points, but you have to see that the current system has more advantages than the old one.

I wouldn't be surprised how many share your view. This is a large community, there are many different views. I was merely pointing out the inaccuracy of your statement about many of the people who voted to have it removed merely wanting it removed because they want their own official faction, as many of the people voting to remove it already have an official faction they control, ie they are a official faction leader.

I didn't comment on your other three arguments because in part they are valid. For the administration having 1 faction per ID does create less stress on them. It is true that unofficial factions can operate beside officials, I am a big supporter of that. As for preventing ooRP conflicts? That is incorrect, it causes as many ooRP conflicts as it prevents. Remember the two Council factions? That was a ooRP mess.

All in all the rule has both disadvantages and advantages. I'm of the opinion the disadvantages out weight the advantages and you are of the opposite opinion. Really it depends on which side the admins are sitting as it affects them the most as they have to wade into the issues having or not having the rule causes.

I agree with the reason the Admins put this rule into place, but I do not agree with the method.

The reason they have this rule in place is to try and encourage people to spread to NPC factions whiche currently have no Official representation, or have bare minimum activity levels.

For example, factions like Corsairs and Outcasts as an example have multiple factions to represent them, and new candidates always pop up.

Where as other factions like Corporations in particular, and small time pirate groups have little interest.

I think if the cost to set up an Official Faction increased with the number of already existing factions, starting at zero credits for an Offfical Factionless NPC faction, and going up in incraments of maybe 250 or 500 million credits per pre-existing Official Faction would encourage people to look at making Official Factions with NPC Factions who have less or no Official Representation already as opposed to forking out a couple billion credits to make a new Corsair Faction.

There is nothing wrong with the Congress starting a price war with your group, even if the motive was an ooRP one. It is a perfectly logical in role play move for the Congress, why wouldn't they try to stomp the competition out of business?

What does your situation have anything to do with the 1 faction per ID rule?

What do you mean by this? Should every Hacker engage another Hacker just because he took his lane?
There's no competition among Junkers. Corsairs can't claim other Corsairs are their competition.
LR was even sanctioned (or warned) for attacking a single indie Rogue who wanted to pirate.
So, yes, there is something wrong with it. If the other group (in this case [collectors]) isn't fine with the internal conflict, then there shouldn't be a conflict.
There was that other example with Ori too.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.

Can't let you bash folks in your sig Chopper-Del

Allow unofficial faction recruit someplace on the forums. I never understood why every thread that smells like recruiting regardless of place has to be locked.

Did I say shoot? I said a price war, please read a post before you ignorantly comment on it.

Edit: If there is shooting that is a violation of server rules, yet still has little to do with this topic.
