Oh really. Exactly how would you know this? A single torpedo can usually cripple, if not sink a modern battleship. Modern fighters and bombers carry similar ordnance. Not to mention, if they are suicidal it becomes extremely easy to disable or destroy the battleship.
Insert yourself into the bridge.
As to the topic?
I don't think commodity prices are designed with much role play in mind. They are what they are so that we have a somewhat balanced trade system.
All this nonsense about it being hard to role play with the cost of goods not making any sense is just nonsense. This is a game. You're free to pretend.
Quote:so this is about roleplay. - when is a character "happy" with what he has. - some might say "i am never happy, you can always have more" - but thats not quite how it works. - give the utmost greediest man 10 billion $ - and he ll run out of ideas what to spend it on sooner or later ( hence his greed turns to boredom )
Bill Gates continued to work long after he made his first billion. You can't really claim how it works, as it truly depends on the individual.

Yes, definitely we have suicide bombers today, especially the high tech ships of the day, which are far less advanced compared to FL ones, have no defenses in terms of cruise missiles, guns and whatnot, to avoid. Damage control, flooding prevention systems etc. etc. Yes point is valid.
I do not exactly know, lucky hits count. But I have read n seen some stuff, I claim that as my opinion and therefore its uber valid. Learned from you.
Commodity prices are definitely OORP. But, something has to keep us running.

There is currently no war between two nations who field a large Navy or Army. Thus, you can't be sure kamikaze tactics wouldn't be used. They were used in the past; to great effect. Their victims had defenses, yet the were still effective.
You are right though, three fighters/bombers would have an extremely tough time sinking a modern battleship. Not because of their weaponry though. They'd have a tough time because the carrier floating nearby would launch multiple wings of fighters to defend the fleet long before those three fighters/bombers were able to get in range of the battleship and become a threat to it. You know, if they were doing their jobs right.

That BS vs bomber comparsion isn't valid, since you didn't count one of the resources, that wouldn't be really important inRL (unless we're talking about groups like hessians, Order etc), but are decisive on the server - available manpower.
Battleship requires 1 pilot.
Bomber requires 1 pilot.
To make it worse, maximum amount of available manpower to the whole Sirius is 200 pilots.
Yes, I do understand that BS requires way more RL time and effort then a bomber "to produce", hence it still has bigger fighting capability then a bomber.
' Wrote:Tryign to figure any monetary course here is silly. It just do not work. In terms of sheer setting up, ships lets say:
Bombers cost without armor what, 10-15 millions? Break it down - Falcata package, 6.4 million, add 600k for new shield, 1.2 millions for guns, 7 millions for SNAC. Lets not count armor for now. 15 millions at this set up.
Rheinland battleship costs 770 mil package, with 18 basic guns, 788 millions. Thats 52 times the bomber.
Though, at these set ups, it takes 45m worth of credits to demolish the battleship without chance for it to survive.
Not inflation, sillyness.
It takes one X-Wing to take out a Death Star. Your point being?
Captain Kirk worked his way up in the Dark Side, managing to make him powerful enough to promote Mr. Spock to a point where he could get near the fusion reactors on the Death Star, upon which, he Vulcan Nerve Pinched engineer of the reactors, causing him to collapse on the control panel of said reactors, causing him to hit the button that shut down the cooling systems for the Fusion Reactors, causing a big boom...
Skywalker had nothing to do with the boom boom, he just went because he both wanted revenge, and to impress Princess Leia.

That be true.

That you aint Luke.

on topic - actually why bother really, there is nothing to be done about money, at some point everybody gets enough and its pointless, but we still trade on.
I doubt people hunt for money, more for pew pew.
