Sanction, End of Story.
ID's are there for a reason as well.
Player's ID defines the role of the player and set of rules he has to follow. II'm not an admin, ofc, but this case is pretty clear, imho. The current Discovery mechanics do not leave much room for "rogue roleplay".
P.S. Actually, that's an interesting Idea. I wonder, if DevTeam ever considered adding "rogue" ID, as in not Liberty rogue, but "traitor"? with 30-40% powercore efficiency across the board, excluding nomad/wilde/etc stuff.

Don't try to make a "balance change" thread based on the actions of a guy breaking the rules.
That's all very well if it's a one-off, but this could become a regular problem. I still believe that the most suitable option is to place a timer on the hardware. Maybe even allow two jumps within a specified time-frame so that they can come back once.
Also, this isn't so much about the carrier in question, it's about the abuse in itself and how to deal with it.
Check the Sanctions subforum... He has been reported and punished for one instance of green-on-green. For those who have been involved in other incidents, file them under 6.9 as a violation of the ID's canonical diplomacy, and 5.2 if there was insufficient prior roleplay.
People here are saying, don't take away the uses of JDs just because of one bad example. While there are not any plans currently to do so, JDs are obviously unbalanced both relative to the economy and to PvP. By this I mean that they are basically working as intended, but its impact on the game environment was not considered prior to implementation. Both as a player and a Dev, I intend to push for a moderate cooldown to be implemented; not as severe as 4 hours, but something between half an hour to 1.5 hours, depending on the type of drive.
Knjaz, the Admins write IDs, not the Devs. An open traitor ID would probably be a disaster, honestly. We don't need more hordes of capitals that are unaccountable for their actions. That's the realm of SRP requests.

Because it is perfectly legal to flee. Read the rules man.

Fleeing is perfectly fine (now days at least), the difference is that with a jump drive, you're completely on the other side of Sirius most of the time.
If someone flees, he's at least still relatively close, and can, with good searching, be found. With a jump drive, there's almost zero chance to find him, it's essentially the same thing as docking with a station while in combat, when you jump in combat.
Imho we need to have change to go rogue without too much complication when it comes to IDs. People have done it before, even with capital ships, but the process of actually defecting from your faction was always the risque part, because it involved shooting greens. It could only be done via mutual agreement oorp, and since pre-planned RPs suck, there should be an alternative to this.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Somewhat agree.
Like I said earlier in this thread, I wasn't going to report the guy, because his RP could have turned into something decent and interesting. I feel people deserve a chance to "go rogue", and turn it into good RP, before they get shot down by the admins and other people.
