I'm not questioning the rights of free speech, I know there is no such thing on the internet which is made up of privately owned servers and websites.
Simply pointing out that using the rule of 'If it aint freelancer, gtfo' doesn't work for everything.

I'd love to know the actual reasoning behind the locking of the thread. I really do feel that it has very little to do with the legality of a couple of images that are even seen on wikipedia etc.

Another thread on the very same subject has been steadily growing in flood and no one has said boo. Why? Because it doesn't intersect with any of the forum rules.

Quote: Posting abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, racist materials;
- Advertising, especially commercial advertising, except (1) advertising your own gaming websites or forums or (2) your own game servers;
- Adult content or links to adult content;

The issue was discussed and we determined that images of ladies fondling each others unruly charges and sprawling atop one another warranted a cease and desist.

Likewise with the cyber nonsense being thrown into ICHS.

ICHS is open again and the posting of images of the anime persuasion has resumed in a new thread. The cycle of life goes on.

The Angelfire thread, thrown about as the totem of bias, though probably not conspiracy as Angelfire isn't in any official factions that I'm aware of, is images of ladies in bikinis and other wear. If they were running out in their birthday suits, ladyhandling one another's whoas or wowheys or any combination of the above then we'd shut it down.

*shrugs*

Though I suppose if I'm ever bored a pretty good way to kill some time would be to post innapropriate subject matter and then question why it was subject to moderation. Have to keep that in mind for the future.

Whilst I am sure that is some appeal to authority, or some like-minded ad hominem, eh. Safe than sorry is the best attitude to have, and I will not contest it.

I already explained their actions, that is, the girls in the pictures, and I offered that the thread be re-opened with limitations. All in all, eh. I was reasonable, and I made my points.

(I do not see any new anime thread.)

Looking at your posts, all that can be seen is exaggeration, and an uncompromising attitude. Now that the thread has been invisible'd and the links to the images removed in my first post, not much can be said. Any "ladyhandling", was limited to handling another person's hands and none of the girls where in their birthday suits, just to make the record clear. Also, I have already made my post about the Administrator/Faction conspiracy.

You can keep that in mind for future too.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

Your points are mostly accurate to be honest. Consider the thread re-opened.

You are a gem Dusty:)
Huzzah etc, though methinks I had as much to do with it as a person with a needle does against a Hippo while it fights people with baseball bats.

No, you did. A lot of times it's much simpler to lock a thread and let a subject cool down for a while than to add scrubbing and labor to the burden of the dozens of similar tasks that need doing that day before you can get around to actually enjoying your leisure time.

But it's just as easy to forget how frustrating that can be for the other parties and the anger that can arise out of that. Justified or not it's poor conduct and doesn't contribute in any way towards picking things out of the morass of bad times that most people profess that we've been experiencing for some time.

So, yes. Something I know that I need to work that much harder at myself. So don't say you didn't help as it's the furthest thing from the truth.

Thank you.

It is appreciated.

I'd like to bring something up, however. Many of the people who play on this server, and who wander these forums, are underage. Most of them probably don't care whether the images are legal or illiegal, appropriate or not. However, their parents probably will. Some of those parents have even taken the liberty of surfing the forums, ready skype chats, and generally taking a good gander at everything their child does before they let them continue playing here.

I actually had one parental type yelling at me in the SCRA chat, once he realized his son was portraying himself as a 'dirty commie'. Funny really...

Anyways, the thing to consider is that by posting some of the 'racier' images, you may be giving someone the excuse they want to stop their son/daughter from playing this game and using these forums. Just something to think about.

I understand Koolmo.

The thread is now labeled with an NSFW warning and all ecchi and questionable images are in the process of being linked.

' Wrote:The thread was re-opened yesterday under allegations that the process of closing it was handled improperly. Thats true, the manner under which it was closed was off track and didnt properly communicate the reasons for it being closed.

Today its closed again and removed from the forum.

The decision to close it was unanimous amongst the moderation and administration team as the content it contained is simply not appropriate for the mixed age groups of the discovery community nor does it fall within the guidelines of condoned material for the forum as a whole; chiefly due to the heavily suggestive themes of the imagery inherit to the topic.

I also understand that frustrated parties will look upon posts such as Angelfires, which had women not fully clothed holding up words on a sheet of paper, as an example of unfair moderation in this regard. Rest assured that we will examine such threads in the future under a level eye so as to avoid affronting the sensibilities of those who feel that this decision is unfairly targeting them.

Though the ambition is somewhat hopeless, I know, I would ask that you maintain the same sensitivity of thought that went into re-opening the thread that goes into closing it. While I have little doubt that this will earn a lifetime of snide comments and frustrated gestures about the wretched and unfair nature of the mod team please understand that the subject received considerable deliberation amongst a wideranging group of persons.

Thank you.

I foresaw it happening, after I went to sleep last night.
