When I was playing on my RM beside you guys, I had no real feelings towards you. You'd help in fights, you stayed out of trouble and that is all I really cared about.
But when I'm on my Wilde I see you guys from a whole different angle, you often attack me without a word spoken, and once when I ran from two of your bombers an a couple of BH gunboats (I was in a Wraith) one of you started going "He ran, he now has to leave the system, we won"
That line, or three, caused me to loose any respect I may of had for you guys.
OMG. Johann is coming out of a closet. And he's got purple eyes!
back to normal: I thought you were one woman man Johann. This was a revelation to me.
But I have to agree. Their RP has been so far that at one point they are not there and the next they are there attacking me. I blamed this for the situation always (the fight was already going on). But if attacking without a word is the standard procedure, then it's a :nono:
Well, from what I have observed, your RP on the DHC characters is sadly lacking...I had one train that I was pirating open fire on me without a word, one train that flashed up on my scanners at 13k call in fighter support to hunt me, and a couple of your fighters chase me across New Berlin, through the asteroid field, through the jump hole, and into Stuttgart..."because the LWB shoot you"...
Trading factions are great, but you need to accept that you're gonna lose to pirates every now and again...after all, if someone wins, someone also has to lose...
' Wrote:HAHA I think Hornvipers are at least as useable as any codenames against fighters, and Im ready to prove it in a guns only fight. Of course here are some other faction who has better.
Tell that to the guy that we fought the other day that couldn't scratch my Civi Bomber with his full Hornviper loadout...
Judging from a very narrow perspective, aren't we?
The RM is one of the oldest factions still alive in Disco. For a very long time we were something like Disco's PvP benchmark (much to our dismay, might I add). People would even breach their character's role play to drop by around New Berlin for a match against RM pilots. This faction was never really capital ship heavy nor even PvP oriented, we just had a good number of Disco's veterans due to the faction being old and since everyone in it really "dressed" their characters while playing them, the military discipline "used" to portray the characters helped with coordination, hence making us successful in combat.
With time (and luckly for us) the faction's stance and overall results helped surround us and populate Rheinland with hostile factions also very capable in all aspects. Like the RHA and W to name a couple of the early ones (for me at least). These factions toned to match the RM both in terms of RP and PvP. All Rheinland official factions have been fighter oriented ever since I joined this community. All Rheinland official factions have put a lot of thought and effort into both in-game and forum role playing.
However, it's difficult to be the hottest thing forever. Nowadays, the factions that directly and meaningfully oppose us are at least en par with us in all aspects and they are numerous, RHA, HT, VF, LWB, AU, etc. A faction as old as the RM needs the new blood to keep on going. As older members grow tired of the game, or leave due to RL issues, it's up for the newer guys to pick it up, maintain the faction and make it grow.
Which brings me to your claims. You speak of teamwork, but you are willingly ignoring and dissing a faction, or better yet, a knowledge base that has been around for a long time and has a deep understanding of Disco's proceedings and history to propose something that we already do, just because you feel you'd be more successful at a minor aspect of all that is the NPC faction's role. That's about as individualistic as it can be. If you were indeed interested in teamwork you'd use the superior knowledge and capacity you claim to possess to everyone's benefit. You'd join the faction, teach and learn from us. Instead you prefer to work alone.
As many have pointed out before, PvP prowess isn't the thing in Disco. Sure, the game revolves around it and it's nice to be good at it. But when you put that before other aspects like role play, fair play, meaning and the camaradery that goes beyond whatever character role a player is portraying at a given time, you are merely pointing out that you haven't at all grasped what Disco is all about.

Ive been part of the [RM] for over a month now and I can say, that I realy love and live, beeing part of Rheinland.
My first week as a Rekrut in the Military was not so exciting, likle its today.
I hardly never met a RPing pilot in Rheinland and in addition, I patroled all alone trough the systems.
But I kept looking out for any suspicious actions inside Rheinland.
Beeing patient was exactly the right thing to do.
Old members got active again, new members joined our ranks and some real nice RPed Indie-RM capitals showed up.
The Traders came back and so did the RHA, Unioners, Wilde, VF and all the other guys that love to shoot down a Malexa Malte.
As some people said before, at the primetime, there are 5 or maybe 6 Members of a faction online.
Here is the point. When is Primetime?
Well it depends on your timezone.
[RM] got a few new Members from GMT+01:00, thats why Im not alone anymore.
I've even managed to find out the timezones for the other members, like Virus, Gronath and a few more.
If you wish yourself a roleplaying team, that lives their role on Discovery as intense as possible, you have found them already.
Looking at our PvP fights, I can only say: "Hell YEAH!! I love my rescue pod, but we take as much criminals with us as we can!"
Again im just repeating :rtfm:, we have got a lot of skilled veterans inside the [RM].
They know how to team up. Now think on your own, why do you see 2 or maybe 3 [RM] loosing a fight against 1 opponent?
Right, they are maybe not so experienced like our "Grandpas" here:lol:: ...oh dear, I guess I can forget my promotion.....
Give us some time and we will get better in fighting with our Wraths and Bombers.
Dont be shy to sign up as a recruit.
The training together will do the job on "winning more often", but thats not our key-figure inside Rheinland.
Its nice to have, but not essential as the RP-Backbone here.
Just my view of things. FUER RHEINLAND! FUER DEN GOTTKANZLER!:yahoo:
RWK vs [RM]? Do we even have to wonder who will win?
The RM has stood the test of time and come out on top. They got my respect. The RWK, frankly, does not. I haven't seen that much from them. I've seen tons from the RM, from the viewpoint of an indy RM as well as Wesley Richter.
My only encounters with the RWK have included guns firing with little-to-no RP.
Just a figure of speech. Mainly saying that I thought, before your revelation that you are also an infected Wilde, that you were one faction man Johann. That's all. ;)
@Malexa. I've been seeing you online a lot. I have kinda left you alone (like I do to most of new RM recruits I see flying solo in the server) to give them space to set up your char and get comfortable in their tight Wraths. I've never believed in whipping the new guys badly on day one. Mostly I have made myself available for a little RP and pvp session, but I haven't pushed it, since I figured that they would come to me when they are ready. And they have.
Treat them with respect as players and they will repay it back.
But it's really good to see new blood among the RM.

Oh, good. Alot of people see my chars last name and assume he's a female.
As you imagine, I've gotten a little touchy on the subject.
