I hardly see it as Absurd, that a Liberty Navy Fighter can re-arm in one of several Naval Installation, in the capital system of it's Empire. Compared to the fact it is rather absurd that the Rogues not only: A) Operate Several Destroyers and B) Outcasts Deploy full on Battleships in said capital.

I'm sure if on the flip side a Navy group camped Casini, equal uproar would be made.

As an unlawful, you silently agree to the facts: A) In most cases you will be outnumbered. B) You will be ill-supplied and have few friendly ports and C) No one likes you

Edit: If you want to even consider the RP of it, you would see why it makes no sense. Wanting to keep Rochester is simply and completely for the Mechanical advantage, not the Role Play one.

Thank you for the discussions Snoflek, you've certainly put my mind to rest on what's
to be done my side now. Good to know the flak won't be coming my way...

So more drama around Rochester makes me want to dig this thread out

Please keep the thread focused on solutions to help drive players to landing on unlawful bases rather than Junker ones

Either
1. Allow LPI to have no-dock commands on Rochester
2. Add another Rogue base in the Northern Scrap Field (maybe Western)
3. Add a one way JH from Buffalo to the northern area
4. Give Rochester to the unlawfuls (which would probably result in its inRP destruction)
5. Give Rochester to the Lawfuls

I'm seriously open to anything

Perhaps the NY-NY jump hole could have it's non-badlands point moved to one of the scrap fields?
The 3 points I would initially suggest are:
-Centre Left of F3
-Top Left corner of F2
-Top left of C5

The first two are in the pittsburg field, next to the rogue dessie and above pittsburg respectively. The other is in the middle of the detroit field. This would give the unlawfuls easier access to other parts of NY without basing from Rochester. Balancing for trading/smuggling would still need doing, if it becomes a problem. It'd also be nice to give the detroit field something, since as far as i'm aware, theres nothing of interesting there.

you have to remember the main issues of Rochester, which is that it's really close to Manhattan, personally, I think it should be moved, or otherwise, let lawfuls control the dock on it.

In the lore/RP of freelancer, Rochester is a smuggling base near Manhattan where Pirates come to buy sell for profit near a core planet to fund their operations. (DUH) They would not launch attacks from this base. Unless they wanted to have it forcibly dissembled by the lawfuls. Why do you think there are no lawful NPC patrols near Rochester? The lawfuls aren't supposed to know about it, because the place is on the down low. Launching attacks from Rochester would not be something gang leaders would support. Keeping a low profile is the number one priority of real life gangster leaders. Now if you want to be a terrorist maybe a low profile is not your goal. It's simple, anyone unlawful launching attacks on Manhattan from Rochester is not following RP. I would think sanctions might be in order if they don't relent. In any event, I am not privvy to all the history of the people who play this server, and I don't get involved in any of the politics or audio chat or have access to most of the private chats that people use so maybe I am just a clueless dolt.
