Hey you know if the Hogosha and Junkers want to blast away at each other then I say go for it!
But capturing bases - especially the two mentioned - isnt really feasible, and here is why:
Kamakura is a SECRET Hogosha base. Its existence is but a rumour. Not even the GMG role-play any awareness of that base, so how will the Junkers be able to claim it for themselves?
Yanagi on the other hand, is certainly not a secret. The Junkers are there doing the crud-work for ALG in the Yanagi field. To be sure, shady characters are said to frequent the base - but the Congress doesnt permit known criminals (and their capital ships) to loiter around the area.
To the organisers I would say this: Hold your event a little further away to the 'north' of Yanagi. Fights have a tendancy to move around - and one doesnt want to have the fight spill over onto the lawful tradelanes now?
By keeping it away from prying eyes, one can justify keeping the event as a grudge match between the two factions.
To say "if the GMG comes we will call the Corsairs LOL!" is disingenuous at best. In pure RP terms, the GMG are on home turf - and more than capable of dealing with such threats.
Dont forget that the Rheinland Military now cooperates with the GMG in Sigma-13 - another reason to keep the fight clear of the tradelanes.
And finally - if the Hogosha call in the Corsairs - what is to stop certain Junker smugglers from calling in help from the Outcasts? My god could we see something that looks like a typical 4.84 day in Sigma-13? ;)
So sure - go ahead and have your fun - but keep it away from potential escalation points.

Exactly why we'll keep this Hogosha vs Junker only.

I agree with Rudo here. We are not a PVP intense faction, never have been. That's why from the very beginning we negotiated multiple treaties for the mutual defense of Yanagi. It's always been the only way we can defend the station. Now you're asking us to toss out two years of RP.
Plus, I don't like the fact that I was kept out of the loop on planning this. I knew nothing of it. The last time we spoke I said I was in a foreign country with a shaky internet connection and the last thing said to me by the Hogosha leadership was just relax and we can discuss all this when you get back.......now this.

Hawk, this was just an idea conceived in the name of fun and put on these forums to bring people into the loop. The planning on this is in this thread. The only thing set in stone is that there are a few people who would like for there to be an event. No more, no less. The original plan was to have the battle be for 'keeps' which has since been nixed. Would have made the event a lot less fun imo.
The idea has since come up to try something different then the normal "fighters Pew Pew", which is why we were thinking of doing Freighters and Transports.
As for the "mutual defense of Yanagi treaties". This is a sneak blitz attack, if the Hogosha 'win' let us say that they managed to beat the base's defenses, but not in time to get shock troops onto the station before one of the treaty participates arrived, and if the Hogosha lose the treaty participants get there in time to hammer the Hogosha from behind, who have to run away into the gas clouds and return home to lick their wounds.
