I guess the topic went off the Civilian Cruiser. That Civilians would have cruisers is of course not a question, HOWEVER. A Colony Ship (maybe a Colony Frigate - Destroyer class, or how he mentioned a low armed Battlecruiser, a Battlecruiser class Colony Ship maybuh), Lonely_Ghost you forgot a certain point. The Houses are ff... Sorry are TOO BUSY in war with other houses and other factions, you seriously think they have time to colonize planets?

+1
A civilian cruiser, or any sort of civilian warship bigger than a GB, is really absurd.
Now something like a straight civilian ship in the same style (by which i mean cross between GB and transport) as the Salvager is actually a good idea.
What about... like the last Zoner corvo, a research ship? Except very weak? Or just a generic cruiser that's available to all factions (I mean the ones that allow a cruiser) like there are generic turrets.
That's the reasons I would see its usage as 'good'

They for sure has division, for such kind of operation, which ready to act autonomiously, from the rest of the army/fleet. Searching for new worlds is also strategic move, to get upperheand over your enemy.

But who can use cruiser, but dont have it? The only groupe, which comes to mind- GMG. Rest, every pirate/terorist groupe, even counting Mollys, and BD has cruiser. If the GMG indeed wanted it so much, I would be already made, I think.

That is a good possile idea for a version after .87
Maybe like, after a while of building the generic BW GB, BW ship builders try their hands at a simple (and admittedly weaker) cruiser-type ship that could be used by any Cap allowing faction.
The trade off for the genericness being, of course, it being weaker than other cruiser class ships.

Between GB and Transport = Frigate, yeah thats what I already suggested, still no reply on that actually. Civilian Frigate. Maybe to move on with the "Colony" idea, Colony Frigates, GB to defend itself and the Cargo for the Colonizing purpose = Civilian Colony Frigate.

Lane hackers don't.
It's just an option for people who want evasion/less armor for generic. Or a better/different looking ship you know?

Spyglass.
Anyways, I don't like the idea of civilans flying large warcrafts like cruisers. If you feel your "civilian" or cruiser is something more than just a casual civilian, you still have the option of doing a SRP request for him. That really isn't asked too much.
Civilian Colony "Frigate" would be best thing. Since it'd have large cargo like the Salvager for colonizing and enough fire power (GB Turrets) to defend itself and run if needed.
