' Wrote:Lately, I've been seeing a lot of Corsair enemies call the Corsairs cannibals, which is fine and all since they actually did commit cannibalism a long time ago (I don't think it's been done in years though, but the stigma has stuck to them). However, I'm kind of wondering...would the Corsairs really let knowledge of this get out into the public? In the SP campaign, I was under the impression that the Corsairs only told this to their most trusted allies. If I remember correctly, the rumor that mentioned cannibalism was found on Planet Crete (I think. I can't confirm it since that website with all the rumors is only in the favorites menu of my home computer and not my college laptop) and could only be seen after becoming friendly with the Corsairs. Given that this piece of knowledge appears to be only shared with the Corsairs' most trusted allies, I'm wondering how it's possible that the enemies of the Corsairs would know something so sensitive about the Corsairs.
tl;dr. I'm not sure what info you're trying to point out in that link.
So far, it seems like the only explanations are metagaming and some fool blabbing after allying with the Corsairs.

He looked around seeing all people stare at him, quietly sat down and whispered to Espi, "Shame half of these bastards don't know what they eat in their soup."

If anyone asks, just tell them the last supply ship brought Captain Igloo's Fingers. Which is not far from the truth, since his surname was... Erm. Iglean?
He looked at his glass again and downed it a few seconds later.
Back to work, amigo. Cadiz awaits. See you in a few days.
Espi rallied the convoy pilots in the room and went to the docking bay to get ready for plundering.
I may be interpreting that wrong, but it seems like those two posts only referenced that cannibalism still happens (I was under the impression that this practice died out long ago, but that's another discussion). I still don't see any how someone outside of the Corsairs would find out about cannibalism from that conversation, which looked like it was from one Corsair to another and not to an outsider.

The second year after planetfall we ran out of Food. The family leaders gathered together and decided upon a course of action. The Ventru line was chosen, and they gave themselves up to be butchered. Every Corsair is a Ventru, though the line no longer lives, they are a part of us all.
This rumor is spoken by two Corsair NPCs on Crete.
It is not meta gaming to know of this rumor. As is is easily accessible by anyone not hostile to Corsairs. The fact that Zoners can land on Crete means they would know about this. Zoners run the Freeports. This knowledge would probably travel fairly quickly via the gossip/rumor mills.
