' Wrote:Yeah, like the raids of the RM on Manhattan the raids on Planet Malta from the Corsairs and the raids from the OCs on Crete are a similar situation. I can remember there already was a discussion like this before. I find the raids more OORP than inRP. In terms of gamefun they are always fun imho but they nearly always lack in using RP. And to be honest. Camping enemies near the centre of power of a House or another heavily defended system are annoying, yeah.

Something that could be done, but something that has been discussed more than one time before, is to increase the amount of NPC defend platforms with a lot of damage. Or something like this. It seems to be the only solution in- and OORP to reduce such aggressive actions that make no sence inRP.

It's not same. You can't compare 2 largest pirate factions with access to planets with Houses.

Although if we talk about factions, I kinda feel that House core worlds, with a capital planets in it, should be very heavily defended, both in peace- and war-times. Together with other strategic planets, since it's them and their industrial capability/available manpower that makes Houses to be considered "countries" in terms of power, compared to everything else.

It is easy. Ever been to the Rogue/xeno systems? Just put cruiser/battleship/weapons platforns around the jumpgate/jumpholes. A battleship comes through, and it is mauled before it can hit cruise. Also put CDs on said bases/ships, and poof!

Yeah the Rheinland-Liberty war is almost like it doest exist. Maybe the Rio Grande or that BS in California I forgot the name can be deployed to Texas so both jump gates can be guarded together with the Mississippi.

I would fully endorse an "ID operated " gate.

Wouldnt it be much easier to just make gates that are red to you deny docking like stations do?

But yeah you would need more jump holes in both cases.

It's a game

A option of this might be to put weapons platform that they look like BS (the 2 osiris in omicron 100 that are guarding the order shipyard) near gates with incredible firepower so when you jump as "red" you will be obliterated forceing you to use jump holes instead

Seeing RM / BDM / Spyglasses / Outcasts / HF with BS / AGS / or any other factions that got bored of there zoi in front of 'hatten seems a bit oorp. Sure now go and put all the hate on me but we all know that Manhatten it's the capital of Liberty and it's pretty much guarded and those raids are actualy null.

People like to fly there RM magic sticks in NY but they whine alot when LNS capspam comes and they can't do a thing to them. For me it's pretty much what you should deserve when you'r attacking Liberty's territory.

It's a game we don't need the NPCs to do the job.
In any other words get used to it or move somewhere else when they'r there. Disco got boring due to not too many RP updates and people are starting to create there own ID / RP with different IDs.

And have alot of fun that's what's all about till you get sanctioned

I think its basically needing NPC's stations to make up the numbers while the majority of the LN players are offline.

I mean until the day that we have 1000 player slots and every single pilot can efficiently stay on the server 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year each and every year then the full force of any house military is never going to be online all at one time.

And since we can't all be online we need somthing to bridge the gaps when theres little to no activity from that faction in the server.

Edit: Also who here would actually want to sit stareing at the same gate even for a few hours on the very slim possibility that a raid will actually happen during that time, usually the hostile forces wait for you to go offline before attempting especially if they know your there and can overpower them.

Yes, attacking a home planet is stupid

Can we do something about it? No, they either realize it themself or they will just keep going.

I have seen both LNS and RNC doing it sadly

The [HF] will keep fielding caps in front of Manhattan until LNS- at Manhattan stop shooting lone fighters.

For every action there's a reaction, y'know.

You can complain about how it looks funny, how "OMG HF NO RP NOOBS", etc, etc. But really we just look out for our own. At least most of us make an effort to keep things fair. You know, not shooting lone fighters with dreadnoughts unless attacked first, that sort of thing.

And y'know on top of that it's really quite a lot of fun too. Maybe you people should loosen up and try to have some.

Afterall, fun's what keeps people here, right?

That's pretty much what Ross did to Dashiell's LN fighter in the Ven'Gyr.

Just highlighting something.

That's because Ross is a wanker and I've told him not to do that on several occasions. I mean I love the guy to death, but yeah, he doesn't much care who he shoots or what with.

It's because he's Scottish.

As for something about "good luck dealing with nomads when they attack" which I believe Jeremy Hunter said... I do believe that folks in the Liberty Forces are numerous enough to deal with most concerted attacks and they certainly do not pull punches with characters that talk about levels of light as a justification of shooting.

Plus, the entire reason for such a ID block would be to stop the Order from using it as a transit point to the rest of central Sirius, and to stop traders from even trying. As I said, there's a jump hole to another place there, go through there if you really want to get to Liberty. It's not meant to be easy to get from Minor to New York, nor is the decision meant to be one that can be made on a whim.
