No need for an apologize. But you will see that it depends on the player how 'skilled' he is inRP. A higher level could also mean that he powertraded a lot and haven't even read the rules at the forums for maybe a half year of playing. Keep in mind: The higher the CAU is and the bigger the ships and the stronger the weaponry is the higher is the chance to encounter a lolwut instead of a RP'er. You will learn how to deal with them, I guess. The ones who didn't make it to do so are mostly busy with other forms of making money imo.

5. General PvP Rules
5.2 All attacks must be the result of some form of role play. "Engaging" is not sufficient. An attack is any hostile action that drains shields to less than 50%. Being hit with a CD is not considered an attack. If a player is attacked he has a right to defend himself regardless of who is attacking.

But I'm afraid, that if you even would have some screens as evidence, they won't help you. Because such things happen just to often, and it'll be impossible to check every report in time.

I'd also got killed today by an engagment without RP. But in this case, I've been the "pirate" (Steelworker), who was busy RPing, when the Liner suddenly killed me, before he said a single word.

It's ok, if it doesn't happen that often, just think about: Stay alert or die in open space! - as single rule.

The pirate was fine, he made a demand. It wasn't met. He killed the trader.

Although more RP would have been proper, he's perfectly fine. No rule broken.

You could, in theory, submit a report for fair play rule violation, but I doubt action would be taken since this sort of poor RP happens all the time. But none of the engagement notice, demands etc rules were broken.

Edit: I realised how my last sentence could have been interpreted incorrectly.

You don't have to make an engagement notice. Just prior RP, this requirement was fulfilled by the demand of 2 million.

You never have to say "I'm going to kill you now"
