This is Bretonia. Its not militarized untill its scary. Can't figure out how to curve my rill plating yet..so I'm working on it. I give yall, the Destrier mk2, fourth model ever for those of you watching the evolution.

Interesting. You're certainly progressing your modeling skill fairly quickly, which is good.

As for the model, it's certainly interesting. I think the (mostly) more sleek and streamlined appearance lends itself well to the military purpose it has, makes it look quicker, more precise, more deadly.

The mesh has a long way to go, though. However, for a new modeler and it being one of your first models, it's certainly not bad at all.

Currently, the biggest areas that need improving are the cockpit and underside. The underside is too blocky, and the cockpit is too much of a sphere. However, hopefully I can help you figure out solutions for this on skype.

Going Rhino-Grizzly way of upgrade, maybe I would suggest to put special slots on external armor where you would put guns on to make it actualy look like combat vessel instead of superarmoured piece of something.

Also Bowex gonna conquer the world with that thing I guess.

Just thinking, one way to make the design a lot more aggressive, would be to push the shell at the sides inwards, so it's more snug to the inner hull. That would make it look less flimsy from the underside view, and give it a sleeker overall profile that would distinguish it from the Clydesdale.

And yes, this is exactly like the Rhino/Grizzly relationship.

EDIT: Actually, just been hit with a few more ideas. I'll need to draw them though.

Whups, sorry. I'll doodle it in Photoshop then edit it into this post.

Right, so push in the wings so they're more flush with the hull. That'll reduce the frontal profile and make it look less like an obese freighter and more like a combat ship.

Shave the corners off the cargo section on the underside to make it seem more rounded. Alternately, just copy the Clyde's general curvature - that seems to work alright.

Instead of the outer hull being one block of armour, divide it into three sections (already done by the rill plates) at the base. Rear wing is the longest, and covers the engines (this is present on the stock Clyde). The next rill plate terminates slightly higher up, but still lower than the main hull. Main hull meshes neatly with the cockpit.

This would probably do well with a Clyde cockpit, with the edits I've doodled in. So, three armoured sections to make the current glass bulb a lot less exposed. That'll make it look like a much meaner target, and is generally more appropriate for a combat ship.

The square above the cockpit would be space for an embossed Bretonian flag. That can either be set into the hull or extruded out of it.

Food for thought. :P

EDIT2: Actually, another idea for the cockpit. Might be cool if there was a flattened section on the top and bottom for a equipment mounts. Might look a little too odd though.

Make the texture of the flattened section of the top and/or bottom the Bretonian flag, incase there will be a flattened shape there.

The Cockpit needs to be smaller and less round. Also, a few smaller Plates below the Ship wont hurt it.

Smaller, perhaps. But as your own sig attests, the clyde;s cockpit is very, very round, A bublous shape indeed.

Yeh, I know, but half of the Cockpit is covered in Metal and is more like inside the Ship and not sticking out.
