' Wrote:I've never flown anything in the battleship class, and am wanting to learn more about their handling behaviors, so looking to buy something in this range. I dont expect to do much, mostly PVM with some opportunistic PVP. Looking for something that is in the middle of the range, with decent arcs and core, that I can undock and find trouble pretty easily. Recommendations?
Sarissa, LN Dread, Bret BS, Colonial/IMG BS....
Sarissa turn rate is about 1.5 times faster then that of a Adv Train (Did a test, my Sarissa and a Adv Train did a 360 spin on the spot, i did 1 1/2 round in the time the train did 1)
Sarissa has a major blindspot underneath, but it can be covered by a flak to knock bombers outta there. Havent flied LN Dread, but its possibly the best allround BS in the game. Bret BS is simply amazing for its size, it can actually rough up most adversaries although arcs arent the best in that case. Colonial/IMG BS, well, what can i say? Flown right and their a real pain in the ass, flown wrong and their like paperplanes armed with crossbows.
EDIT:
Dont get a BS, honestly, DONT.... their a waste of money unless your into hardcore RP.... Even if you WANT to pirate with it, its utterly useless as it cant keep up with snubs n transports....
If i were you, i'd go for light-heavy Cruisers, like Storta, Scylla, Bret dessy or Vidar.... Cruisers are much better option as they can take on BS's, but also take on snubs without too much difficulties.... Their also the ship class that has come out as the winners in the "turret split" change introduced in 4.86

But rage factor gets high when a CAU8 lolorca appears messing up snub fights...
He's not even any good. I see him get killed by half what it should actually take to kill a gunboat these days (and then he rages at the lawfuls for not helping and being useless )
Liberty Dreadnought is pretty good, but didn't you say that you weren't going to help lawfuls in Liberty anymore? I could swear that you did.
In which case, the Bretonian BS, the Dunkirk, is pretty balanced and a good all-rounder as well. Plenty big things to shoot at as well, when the GRN come out to play.

[LN] isnt Liberty and vice-versa. I still protect traders, even the ones in Liberty, per my lawful RP. [LN] still fights to amuse itself, "RP" is ... well I'm in a Navy ship right?
Get Legate -it is the most all around ship ever due to some unique features that I would let you to find out.
