we used to get as many bouncing crashes with the old LN-RM battles, so I dont think its specific to the Legate/Jorg

also, did you test with active clients? maybe the problem is server trying to generate messages and runs out of stack. are there any tweakable buffer sizes in the server?

It is ok- ask Ingenious for help- he codded a lot of cool stuff about tracking bases and ships data in order to troll other players so I guess he would be capable to connect the ship data tracking together with lag tracking of the specific ship, compare this together with the server downtime/crashes/heavy lag times and you would get the answer. Sometimes trolls with skills could be more then useful.

Other interesting fix it to remove completely the AU armours making all snubs with default 2.5x hull 15M more expensive and with a bit more bots/bats to cover the difference- so the calculations would be less like Ovy suggested in other topic. Making all BSs with 2 only primary slots is possible without any balance change- just double the DPS/DPE of the BS primaries, same for the light slots- no need of 10-20 light slots they could be minimum 4 and maximum 8- so the biggest Battleships would have no more then 14-15 Guns. I was always against the more turrets with less power and bad arcs kind of balance- it makes the server to use more recourses and the effect is quite the same.

That would require the list of all battleship names first. Without admin help, collecting that kind of data is really really slow. Think even i have all legates and ossies and turtles and makos in the list? Think again.

I think the best solution would be to remove capital ships from the game entirely and give bases the kind of protection that can be broken by large bombersquads.

Player owned caps has been one of the worst features of this mod from the start...

No not really- the tracker already knows what ship is what- hence we know that we have 254 Osiris,Turtles etc.
It just need the coding to link them and his coding was there-he was able to monitor everything and represent it graphically somehow using the server statistic. Linking all would make bulletproof lag detecting tool that could run for a month or 2 then the Devs would know what ships exactly create more lag and fix them.

I really don't understand this anti-cap stuff.

Yeah there might be some mechanical issues related to caps, and those should of course be sorted out.

But to say "remove all caps" is silly. It's what attracts never players, its what bombers where created to kill and so on, and frankly most caps arent really that intrusive, because they are easily whacked when up against 3 bombers.

I really really don't get the QQ that is unrelated to the lags.

EDIT: We could always go back to vanilla and all just fly fighters.

I think I was facing 5 [RM] bombers. I was in their skype chat too.

It all happened at once. One by one they died by my dual missile shots.

Which instakilled those who were hit.
