' Wrote:If you're gonna do that, I'll advice to play as Venetia, I do not know but they were the first faction I played with, and I had an easy start and expansion with them. It's true that I played on easy at that time. But they're still a great faction no matter what

Grr, too bad I cannot play on multiplayer D: Actually I never managed to complete a game in Medieval 2 because of my...let's say wooden pc and of the lags in the end game...And Multiplayer would be to much

The Venetians sure are giving my Holy Roman Empire a hard time in my campaign right now. But I think I'll try out the Byzantines first. For old times' sake.
Also, I feel you about old PCs. My last one couldn't even run the demo of Halo. Well, it could, but with everything on minimum.

' Wrote:I have it. Bought it with gold edition from amazon. But I prefer vanilla over kingdoms. Anyway it's required for a lot of mods out there. For example Stainless Steel, which is awsome.

Have yet to actually try any of the expansions. I read that one of them (can't remember which) enhances the graphics, which wouldn't really be good for my PC's performance. Gonna look at Stainless Steel later though.

Byzantines are sweet in the early/mid game due to their Cavarly but I think they will have a hard time in the late game as they have low to no access to gunpowder afaik

Another - in my opinion is that it's an orthodox faction. And orthodox factions are kinda underrated in the game in my opinion due to the fact that they can't participate in crusades and afaik, Orthodox countries assisted the catholic ones in the crusades in history.

Also, be prepared to face the Ottoman Empire and Venice if you go for Byzantines. They attack it very early in the game

The Long Road mod in TWcenter is pretty interesting. It adds lots of features, gives the royal family members a more RPG feel with territorial titles, nobility and ancillaries. It also makes the game extremely long, among a whole lot of new stuff.

Currently a 3.0 version is planned for release which fixes a lot of small details that were screwed up in last version, and will probably fix an annoying crash to desktop at the end of your turn, but the beta is taking ages.

The Third Age is another awesome mod, as govedo said a Lord of The Rings mod with a lot of cool features.
