Just sayin'... but the reason I never make threads about Texas in the summertime is because I always expect it to be oppressively hot, so when I sweat my balls off every year, it comes as no surprise.
What does surprise me however is a thread that complains about snow in Toronto during the winter.

Did I miss something?

Nah. Just our biggest storm for a few years here. It is true though, i come from Nova Scotia where everyone has a tractor with a plow because you just cannot shovel 2 meters of snow each day, and not kill your back.
Hmmm i must be getting old. I just finished yet another hour of shoveling 1 meter of snow, and my back is killing me.

It's a matter of degees (literally) I'm old too...so the question is, is it better to kill your back shoveling snow, or killing your back lugging bags of ice back & forth during the dog days?

wanna trade?

Trade? Nope! I as you know am a truck driver. And no offence, but i hate the USA. To many extremely rude ass people there. Why do you think Canadians sew a Canadian flag on back packs when traveling? So we are not mistaken as Americans in other countries.
True story here: Me and ex went to Europe. Went to a little B&B and 2 Americans came out saying they all booked up. We went in anyway to get a drink, and asked person at desk. She looked at our backpacks, and asked if we were Canadians, and not americans. We said yup, and she said we got a few rooms left, just not for those rude Americans. So there you have it.
Not saying all are bad mind you, but alot just have horrible manners. The "we are most powerful country in world" crap gets old real fast.

You don't see an extreme dual standard there?

Yeah, we're covered in white here as well. I don't even know anymore why I'm departing for winter holidays next week, could just as well stay at home...

Actually, down where Marburg lives here in the USA, if they got that much snow it'd shut the state down.

I know, I was in Oklahoma over Christmas and we got, what, an inch on Christmas Day and the state basically closed. Granted, Texas and Oklahoma don't have the equipment at all to deal with a snow like if it happened in Indiana - because they don't SEE a snow except once every two or three years.

And if the UK got the HEAT that Marburg has to deal with in the summer, you'd all be reduced to piles of lard and fat. It's not uncommon for it to get above 100 F and just stay there for weeks at a time. (Of course, Texas is 3 times bigger than the UK, too, so...)
