It controls a lot like Freelancer, and it is all action based (jump right into a fight) and it is free to play. You can pick it up on Steam.

It's basically World of Tanks in space.
Combat has a definite Freelancer-feel to it

It's quite fun, although seeing this always makes me long even more for Freelancer 2.
