If you're a nvidia-guy, I could explain it in detail.

@ Mister corsair: The report has already been submitted, in fact the same day that the video was uploaded, your post here won't change anything despite showing a "Ididn'tknowomg". I had met that very character several times in the past and you -didn't- jitter.

It's up to 'em greens.

Fair enough. I made this thread intending to take the slap for it since I'm the one who has done wrong.
I just thought It'd be nice to try and come clean first.

And I can tell you don't believe me, when I say I wasn't aware of this, but it won't make it any less true. The reason that it wasn't a problem in the past, is because I upgraded my hardware considerably last year. That combined with the fact that I haven't been playing for a few months means, that I now have something that runs very differently from what I had back then.

Go into nvidia system settings (right-click desktop), go to "managing 3D settings", then find Freelancer in the list, and disable vysnc (it's the last option in my list).

I do believe you weren't aware, because there were moments when you didn't jitter. However with all the stuff being spread about this it's normal to see smartasses attempting to abuse it. I proceed with the standard form, no hard feelings or anything.

The game is NOT smoother at 200 FPS , you just KNOW you can avoid incoming fire .

Play it at 75 FPS , then try it at 120 FPS , you will see no noticeable difference .

Thats all .

But since some of you got banned/sanctioned , all of you just started crying that you ar eplaying at over 180 FPS .

Nice .

Clearly you've never used high fps if that's your honest evaluation.

I have a Radeon card, and when I turn on vsync from it, sometimes rarely that the game would exceed 150+ fps. Normally, I stay at 50-60 fps. Is there any solution because when I try to battle without noticing my fps exceed 180 that I would cheat.

Quote:If you want to keep the smooth gameplay and not jitter, you can always leave vsync off and use dxtory to cap your FPS at something well below 180.
the jitter said

Quote:How do I turn vsync off? I downloaded Dxtory, capped FPS at 120, but it's still 60.
Why do you want it to be 120?

Quote:Try to download DXtory and cap fps at 120
Why not just Vsync on?

Or maybe just try normal ways of getting rid of mouse lag no? By adjusting windows mouse settings?

Whether you want to believe that higher FPS helps or not, the theory behind it is sound. Many games check mouse / keyboard input every rendering frame. Higher FPS = Higher "polling rate" = Higher accuracy.

A better mouse or altered mouse settings might also do something, but the game updating its "idea" of where the mouse is more often helps a lot, too.

Consider trying it out. There is a very noticeable difference between 60 and 120 fps. No need to go higher than that, though.
