No offence to the original creator of the Collector... But the skin is terrible. The textures should be all junker-ish: dirty, bolted-on metal, etc.

Now if I was any good at designing i'd have a crack at a new skin... But i'm shocking. So someone, please save my junker from his cream-coloured ship!

that ship uses same skin as CSV on which was based...CSV is a bit on the yellow side but that can be added with some lighting to the skin...otherwise i don't think skin will be changed...

The point he was making was that it's shiny purple and silver. Not so Junker-ish.

Agreed! I actually PMed Jinx about making a new skin for it a couple of days ago. No reply yet. I'd LOVE for it to have a skin more in line with the Spatial or something.

Yeah, that'd be good.

@Lancer, sorry i haven t replied. - i don t know how my textures look in FL yet. so - i have no idea if they look convincing.

gotto wait till doom is done with the juggernaut - and can post me a picture from it in space somewhere in FL - so i get an idea how the colourful light in FL affects the textures.
right now, i only know the textures with white light and one single lightsource. - freelancer has allmost no white light - and sometimes the lightsource in FL is a lot stronger than the regular light in the rendering program. - the closest to come to a normal lightsource is "omicron-lost" that has a medium white light from only one single direction sort of.

but cant we just use the normal CSV textures on it? - i still haven t managed to use the FL textures myself. they are in a format that i cannot seem to open up in photoshop. ( epyon sent me a pack with them )

The Junker skin could be good but with some differences to distinguish this vessel. Bits of bolted-on armor and scrap would look great. Perhaps a darker tone of the CSV textures, to distinguish it? Lancer has a point there, some faces with the Spatial texture would look great.

Collector uses original CSV textures. CSV is Junker ship. So if Junker ships don't look junkerish enough, are we to change CSV texture too?...

@ Jinx - Photoshop can open all FL textures TGA files by default and DDS file after u download THIS plug in

Simply add a dc node for each texture within the material node tree of the *.mat file and enter RGB values like:

0.800000
0.700000
0.700000
0.000000

This will make the skin dark with a light touch of red, for example

The Collector may have CSV's textures but it clearly looks nothing like the CSV ingame.
