I have noticed that when ppl use cheat mods with discovery alot of them are not compatiable with discovery and sometimes causes the server to crash . When freelancer came out i noticed this . Why cheat its easy to make money just takes time. dual core is more for mulittasking which would be good for a server like discovery . ah i am rambling back to discovery:crazy:
I was under the impression that it was a temporary thing, to just, you know, try out. I would assume that something that badass would have to be given back eventually. Now its up to Maj to either buy one of those babies or use what we have now.
On a side note to all cheaters: IF YOUR GONNA CHEAT, USE SOMETHING COMPATIBLE WITH DISCOVERY!
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs

I have it now confirmed - we can keep the current CPU. It will cost us something like 280-300$, but it's definitely worth it as we saw.
As soon as I sort out the memory problems, I'll set it back up over 4GHz. We now run at 3,6GHz, which is still better than before.
To all cheaters: If I see you, I will kill you.

E8400 is an impressive processor. It beats an E6750 to dust.
What video card do you have?
Asus Deluxe is good. No wonder you'll be able to squeeze 500 FSB out of it. Still I think the 520 you reached is mobo limit and not E8400.
Is the board frying them at default voltages? Does the frying happen in all the slots or just in those two I assume you use? I can't remember the cpu-z screenies out of hand right now in this thread. Gotta check them out.
I've got 8800GTS 640MB overclocked pretty hard. The gains in fps just by having E8400 instead E6750 even after over-clocks are not too great according to reviews I've read. Most probably I'm going to get a quad as my next processor.
EDIT: I could only see from cpu-z screenies that you are running the thing in dual channel mode and assuming by the timings of the memory you have 2x1GB sticks. You probable have tried them to slots 2 and 4 already if the memory problem has been there for a while.
We will raise the limit again. We are just waiting for the replacement of our memory modules. Quite many of them died in the overclocking process in the pas few months under weird circumstances even though they never crossed the frequency (and voltage) they were approved for. We are not sure, but our motherboard may be killing them for some reason on some frequencies.
I am now waiting for specific ones that have been working there for a few months without any problems. The shipment got delayed and I (we) have to wait, but when I have them, I'll be able to overclock the CPU back up to 4.5GHz and then we can raise the limit again. I am not sure whether it's going to be 200 again, as I currently am able to grant no more than guaranteed 4Mbps line for free. We have to test the final player limit before we park on a final amount. It could be somewhere between 150 and 160...

Hmm, yep, we run them in dual channel. But to be honest I haven't tried slots 2&4, at least I am not sure if I did. I'll do it as soon as I have them. Thanks for the tip...
