Thank you. Something I've been shouting pretty much ever since the beginning of POBs. Just keep 'em stored away, they're a nuisance and ruined Discovery. There might be a chance for redemption if they stay gone.

Will any bases that fell in the recent past also be recovered now a bug has apparently been found?

Just make bases SRP and make them vulnerable through RP only, not huge bases with infinite battleship sieges, but some forum RP where you play infiltration and sabotage maybe to destroy one.

This way, creating one would require a lot of -good- roleplay, and destroying one would require the same.

Not optional, as long a PoB is not a player. only owned by you cannot expect people to use it as RP station. Some do (or did) others do not. Problem with it is that i miss the barges around. As you can easy destroy.. well easy, fairly easy destroy them with a huge load of cargo. AND you gain RP as the barge captain can sell you ore and you can negotiate for example. This is way more fun then some static base with some forum RP. Even if you can generate a lot of activity with it.

PoBs generate traders -> traders generate pirates -> pirates generate action

That was the idea about PoBs. But this community generated safe fly-by-night and safe ooRP base suppliers instead. Than we generated fly-by-night and ooRP base sieges. Looks like we now generated money factories and siege-hacks. Players that use PoBs for RP and fair business tremble in fear. They would be forced to cheat too, just don't know how (yet).

I think PoBs must have ID and IFF same like ships, depending of the place they are built on. Only ships of same ID should be able to dock. Good SRP must be done in order to clear ONE ally faction to dock too. Or simply make other IDs must pay high taxes to dock, like ships are nerfed by tech incompatibility.

There should be no such a thing like a "neutral base" and "neutral supplier".

That's why I like Golden Coin. That's badass PoB with most sense I know, consistent, most consequent one. It guards backdoor JH and gets taxes for Mollys. It makes stuff for them. But some real action would happen if just Molly ships could dock there. I'd like to see (and be killed by) Molly supply convoy.

And it was built with major help from OSI, whom put 0 thought into the consequences of allowing a base there. All they saw was the $_$, and they acted with complete disregard for the well-being of the rest of the faction.

If the Zoner faction wasn't such a complete joke, that base would not exist.
