I normaly dont hang out in places where theres no outcast/corsair presence. You can make your reputation among them and get a few "tax breaks" - supplying creat & malta is always a good idea to show a good will gesture. This can only benefit you. I only suggest avoiding ninjas in kusari and possibly any farmers, If you ever encounter a LWB pie-rat, be sure to know youll be treated just fine

This. Piracy is really much lower than it has been, I have no idea how anybody could complain about being pirated too much.
Do you trade exclusively on the most pirated lanes or something?
If you really hate being pirated so much, trade in one of the countless regions that have no piracy whatsoever, like the entirety of Gallia.
Part of the problem ; People trade where theres no pirates, and that limits communication with others - this is why they should have buffed the economy a little so that it will be a risk taking to trade within popular places ( Kusari, Rheinland )

What? How?
By trading and mining obviously. Lets say you make 45m per hour and play 3 hours per day. Remove piracy costs and you come to 120 m per day multiply x 14 and you got 1,680 m. If you you mine in organized group the gains are even higher with even smaller chance to loose money. For lets say 1 bill you can sponsor whole well paid bounty board to deal with the pirates that annoy you in long term offering 10m per kill.
Cash in this game is so overrated, my last inactivity period cost me like 14 bill, got only 1/10 of my stuff back and still haven't done any trading/mining in the last 2 years if you does not count some base supply runs and several 300m per hour jump trading runs for fun and that was 2012.
Also the economy is so full with liquidity that creates the whole inactivity problem. The game offers no hard to achieve candies so people get bored quite quick.
Compare this with 3-4 months grind time to fully cert a tank in Planetside 2...

Precisely, yet devs fear that more than the black death.
I don't know why all say that pirates are rare. last time on the way from NB to NL I met two of them, and on the back way next three. Next day in Dublin I met gang of Molies.
Several years ago was more pirates, but they were not so greedy 2mil was enough to pay them, now they want min. 5 mil for each, if they are in group it is going to be expensive.
An advice: do not use lanes and gates, don't trust colors on the radar, everyone is an enemy. watch your radar and don't get closer.

Well this is only natural - inflation is a real thing in disco. More money gets added to the economy than gets permanently removed (in the form of selling ships and equipment to npcs.
Not to mention the .87 economy buff, traders simply make more money than they used to.

Sure, you can do this and avoid pirates entirely, but why would you want to do that?
It seems kind of lame to me to go out of your way to deny any and all pirates an interaction.
Piracy is part of the game and although inrp pirates are a trader's enemy, oorp'ly they're players trying to enjoy the game, just like you.
(that is assuming they aren't simply griefers wishing to make other peoples' game experience miserable - those sadly exist, and they're no better than silent/ragey traders)
This is not directed just at you, but generally towards certain people that seem to wish that piracy didn't exist at all.
Edit: Personally, I enjoy most pirate encounters when trading. If they never happened, trading would be boring as hell.
Try smuggling, its the other way around Bribe Pirates with the nice Cardi/Artis and they pretty much let you go. Since smuggling is unlawful. Have fun!
