The ID clearly says we can take Lawful Bounty Contracts If I take a Rheinland Military Bounty contract is against the Liberty Navy is that not a Lawful Contract?

BHG ID and you're hostile to Liberty?
Since the official BHG has stepped down, you're open to be creative, however those are tricky waters to tread in.

Are you going to aim for officialdom?

We were aiming for something like Reavers...sort of. More Rp encounters, less pvpwhoring. We are not the best PVPers, but we want to have fun, and make sure that our targets enjoy being hunted (Does that make sense?)

they can,it's a lawful act/bounty(atleast for one of the houses,which is more than enough)
i know it's a bit of a loophole, in some peoples eyes,however it does make sense inRP and ain't restrictive by rules which is what should all mater

Yep, good luck shooting Navy together with pirates. Hunting lawful ships within Liberty is an unlawful act, and an unlawful bounty contract. Rheinland-Liberty war doesn't change this fact. Even if by Rheinland laws shooting Navy is a lawful act, it doesn't make the bounty less unlawful. BHG don't shoot neither RM nor LN lawfuls.

Problem with this logic is that lawful and unlawful factions are clearly defined. Enemies can be treated as being against law in RP rules of houses, but it doesn't apply to ID formulation. And the last line of BHG ID forbids any unlawful acts except from described above in the ID.

The BHG ID does clearly state it users can fulfill lawful bounty and escort contracts, but the fact that the "Cannot participate in unlawful actions except as described above" is unclear when hunting Liberty Lawfuls doesn't mean it should be overlooked. I'm not sure if there's a RP position BHG is supposed to take - even if the official faction has disbanded. It's a grey area that could get your group slapped and forced to use Freelancer IDs. Also, not my personal opinion, but some people have strong negative attitudes toward the Reavers for various reasons, so using them as an example can create some prejudices. While that isn't necessarily a big deal, it isn't a great way to start as a faction either - for better or for worse, public opinion matters. Does it mean you need scrap everything and start from square one? No, but you'll need to work harder to demonstrate your group's merits.

Until an admin weighs in, one might be better safe than sorry by using Freelancer IDs, then possibly applying for a new faction ID if/when going for officialdom. The Freelancer ID may have the exact same two lines, but as a generic ID, there's no RP precedent or diplomacy related to lawful factions.

Also, keep in mind that "unlawful actions" will also include grouping with and assisting unlawfuls in Liberty (which you note as "Neutral Unfriendly) - and dodgy if you find yourself allying with Freelancers that were just grouped with pirates/are wanted under a bounty board anywhere. While the BHG ID is probably rephacked hostile to these factions, when the assorted Freelancers come out of the woodwork to team up with pirates to swarm Liberty Lawfuls, it can be easy to get carried away or say/do something that can be interpreted as "allying". Again, this is why the Freelancer ID is preferable.

With the ability to fine-tune your rep as desired and already engage many targets in a broad are under the bounty board under the Freelancer ID, is there any reason why you absolutely must use the BHG ID?

Just in my opinion it's a too obvious violation of rules no matter how one desires to circumvent them. But of course it's up to Admins to make their verdict. If this circumvention isn't illegal, then by all means, I'll be happy to have my own powerful BHG ship without nerf shooting lawfuls in Liberty.
