The milky way galaxy was destroyed. The Nomads used that weird huge cannon thing (as seen in the extended intro) to destroy all the planets we know today. Earth, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, everything was destroyed. The Alliance was destroyed, the Coalition was destroyed, everything gone. So I don't see how you would "take back earth" considering there is nothing in the milky way galaxy anymore.
The nomads only blew up the solar system, not the entire milky way galaxy, which is made of billions of different star systems.

I'm pretty sure that lengthened version of the intro is non-canon and is probably a relic of some early stage of the development of Freelancer, when they may not have had the story as well figured out. Nevertheless they imply pretty heavily in FL that Sol is destroyed, and if I'm not mistaken they say so in one of the NAV map blurbs on one of the bases/objects (the hispania wreck? i cant remember..). So your version of FL2 won't work. But your on the right track, because I think if were ever going to see a FL2 it may have to be a fan-made project, because I don't think the first Fl made microsoft very much money, or created a huge following (people like us not withstanding;)).
I carnt imagin the coalition not being at war after all they would of been fine for a while then tensions would of increased until at last a war broke out over who owned the sol system which means earths now a barren wasteland. The coalition will of disolved back to fighting for the sake of fighting just like they did with the allience.
Sirius is part of the Milky Way galaxy, and only Sol was destroyed. As for why the Nomads wouldn't use the sun destroyer on the humans.. what the Nomads wanted was for the humans to leave Daam K'Vosh territory or die. Blowing up stars would be like a butler blowing up his master's living room with a bazooka during a house burglary. Particularily considering Manhattan would be a major strategic resource , and the Nomads may well not have had access to the larger pool of resources beyond Sirius and into other sections of the Daam K'vosh Empire.
' Wrote:It is debatable whether that intro makes sense or not.
For instance... why didn't the Nomads use that uber-gun on Manhattan? And weren't the Nomads supposedly found dormant by the Rheinlanders? If we go by this, then the aliens were chasing us.
Anyway, if the Coalition was still there, which is also debatable, it would probably arranged be much like the Alliance sleepers were, with different planets under the control of different Coalitiona or Eastern bloc nations, which would probably have fractured, like the Alliance.
I think that the Nomad uber-pwning cannon is somehow rechargeable.. Like the cannon is
one-use only, the 'cannon' breed depletes all its energy on one single blast and then dies..
And for Nomads it may take 2000 years to grow new cannon..

19 years after the war with the nomads, a new system is discovered, and in the system is the discovery of the decade. In the system, was a Nomad Hyper Gate. Tests showed that it linked to the Milky way. So the four houses had a meeting and decided, they were going to take back Earth.
And joining them, was Edison Trent, with Junko Zane, and King. After the war with the nomads, they had decided together to each go into a stasus pod, so to be awoken when needed in a war of some kind.
Now, 1 year after the discovery of the hyper gate, the four houses were assembling a armada to go through the hyper gate, and take back Earth. The team of Trent, Juni and King were awoken from there stasus pods, and joined the armada through the hyper gate, to the Milky Way.
Basicly, the houses find a hyper gate that leads to the milky way, and decide to take a army through and take back Earth and that area. They go through and find the Coalition have changed alot since they last saw them, and they start fighting the Coalition to take back the Milky Way. But the Coalition is led by a Dom Kavosh without the Coalition realising it. In the end the houses win and take back the Milky Way.
In Multiplayer, it would basicly you could fly around the Sirius Sector and the Milky Way, fighting the Coalition and other new factions in the Milky Way.
What do you guys think?
Why is the title Freelancer 2? If i may say so Freelancer 2 will never come out nor it will be ever developed - why then talk about FL2 ideas if they are inexsistent?
At the moment we can only talk about FL Expansions... :)
***WARNING, RANT DETECTED*** FER DA LOVE OF PETE!!! DERE WILL NEVER BE A FL2!!!!!! DIGITAL ANVIL DOSNT EVEN EXIST ANYMORE!!!! MICROSOFT IS ACTING LIKE FL NEVER EXISTED!!!!! GIVE UP!!!!! THERE. WILL.
