I certainly don't, and I'm personally more interested in exploring the vanilla SC universe than re-creating Freelancer and/or Discovery. Much like with Freelancer, I would expect that it'll take some time (years, even) for fully-fledged mods to appear.
Exactly what I thought, that's why I thought about a continuing story in another universe. Like escaping Sirius (that's just for the beginning) and then build a new life, as for nomad remnants there would be the Wilde and maybe on the next updates the nomads will come back, or the admins will find more supports and more developers joining the community so this way they might expand it back to sirius, which would be overrun by Nomads and having ruins from old ships. This way we might probably get blueprints and make MK 3 or MK 4 versions of the vanilla Freelancer Models, but of course those are all future events. But for the first period, we could stick to Star Citizen models and actually have the story playing / continuing in another Universe (Star Citizen).
Like Starlancer, I'm sure many would've liked to visit Sol back and having the Starlancer Ships in Vanilla Freelancer, but it wasn't possible, they went away from Sol into Sirius and had various new Ships and no single one of those ships looked even closely to one of the Starlancer ships, so in the beginning without all the mods and stuff, there was no going back to Sol or having the old Starlancer Ships. But as it seems, it was still astounding how Freelancer continued getting more and more awesome (this doesn't mean we have to completely leave out the Vanilla ships, don't get me wrong it's a mod anyway.)
There is no sirius in this list: http://starcitizen.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_star_systems
so I assume in the future sirius exploded and we could have like a massive exodus of all the factions to the sc universe? It would be pretty cool discovery sirius factions vs star citizen vanilla factions, would make for interesting lore i think
No atmosphere? GTFO.
The propeller is the greatest invention of all time.

exactly, but instead of blowing up Sirius, we could leave it as, conquered by nomads and ruins would be staying there, however it's not reachable. So the story would take part in all factions preparing a massive exodus into the SC Universe. As I mentioned on my previous posts.
Also the idea would be, once the colonies (factions) arrived, a small Nomad force (mostly wilde) would be able to catch em, but since a nomad is far away from Sirius, they'd probably at first not be able to call the others. Means, that there would be a very small group of Nomad NPCs (Not playable) and the K'Hara and Wilde would kinda unite and bother RP a Wilde in Star Citizen (controlled by the remnant Nomad squad). So seeing a nomad in the first would be very rare and hard to find, but Wilde's would be slowly building up again.
NOTE: This is all just the first Lore background, which would be inside the mod. Later on Updates might bring back FL ships again and even get Sirius back who knows, but for the first, I'm just talking about the first stage so we could quickly have a Discovery mod ready when Star Citizen comes out.
Later on with more updates the nomads might be playable again as a Player Faction, once we figured how to implement them as Humanoid characters.

You can't build a mod before the game you're modding is released...
Also, keep in mind that if you want to take the Discovery title / concept, you'll need Igiss' permission.
