What about returning with different trader, but other IFF as well?

You'd be surprised how many players would log on to say a 10-12 gun transport and just "accidentally,' happen to fly into the gosh darn same location where the pirate was attacking someone else and in a need of "self defense," attack the original pirate ship that either forced them to land or killed their other transport.

This was a massive issues years ago where a fleeing trader would land then log on to a Battleship or something to blow away the pirates, the then dead pirates would get a group of ships, with them in the group, and attack the battleship and then "justify" their being in the counter attacking group because the battleship pulsed their shields below a certain %

Yes Traders get a raw deal because there are times they were killed IN the system they need to make a delivery. That's why I'm always a fan of alternate routes and the idea you can never have enough commodities to choose from. Because of forums like this and in game confusion I just avoid the system I died in. Two hours goes by fast enough.

I got blown away in Omega 3 the other day, changed paths to just do cargo runs the other way. Problem solved.

You read me wrong. I meant about returing in a TRADER ship, not military one, as you were killed in a such.

568-ARKG-B6 "Behemoth" Rheinland Transport has 8 guns and is a trading ship. I don't think it is a military ship as it can be piloted by freelancers. And you're missing the point. People would fly back into battles with their TRADER ships and give support to defending ships like giving bots and bats or Woops, bumping into the pirate. I guess accidents happen.

Also...How would you know -what- I was killed in? I never told you what I flew in and there was no one else in the system. I'm detecting a bit of metagaming in play here.

I was thinking about the returning for pure trade purpose into the very same system (not to claim blue), if it is one of the ways that cannot go around. It's not so easy to keep several trade characters at the same time in order to not enter the same system.

Mind that most trading ships do not pose much threat to a bomber or gunboat, unless someone flies CAU8 transport sacrificing a lot of cargo - what misses the point of trading.

I....wow I can't believe I am even defending myself. I guess You doesnt mean You. So when he said "As you were killed in such." Doensn't mean what it says at all.

And Take it easy? I'm just calling the guy out on something he said. So defending myself and what was clearly said in refference to me is me not taking it easy? Oh how I missed the "wisdom" of these forums.

In any case, I still made my point. You die in a system don't enter it. People still use the"Im just trading excuse for just that, an excuse. This both makes it difficult for the one that killed or forced them to land as well as the legit player, just wanting to cut it even and trade.

Now I thought, we had the rule where, only after an engagement (now drops shields below 50%) and then they land, does that constitute a "death " and the 2 hour rule. Otherwise all asnub needs to do is freak out a ship, get then in a 10k range and the freaked out ship lands. Victory without a shot fired, 2 hour lock down. Not fair at all.

If a trader dies, they're locked out for 2 hours. If they dock under fire, no penalty applies. If anyone else combat docks they are effectively "dead".

An attack is still 50% shield damage or more; if a hostile ship watches you dock without actually attacking you, good for them I suppose? Doesn't do or mean anything.

tl;dr version: read the rules in the sidebar. They're not as complicated as you people are making out. Dead traders can't return under any circumstances. Docked traders aren't dead.

I know this, but what about the scenario in which a player is kind of "troll" and kills someone in all possible directions, e.g. if someone has the "luck" to be Libertonian corp?
