Why is there such a big deal about user titles again?

Definetely post count (which should be minimum 1k).
Also, what Flash said, what's the drama about titles anyways?

Why do you all care so much about this, even?

It's custom titles in an internet community dedicated to a 12 year old space game. Just let it go already.

If for example mine were just "Global Moderator", I wouldn't care.

At the risk of sounding like I care...

For example, the same argument could be used to just give us them instead of holding it above the commoners like some unreachable bauble.

We'd then have to moderate who writes what there.

I honestly would just have them be set to some set text for everyone, rather than dealing with all this.

Since no matter how useless these titles are, people seem to care and complain about them.

If you do that the mods wouldn't feel special. Above that crucial thing, us normal people wouldn't be able to laugh at the ones that care so much about user title as to make a thread that basically screams "GIVE ME A TITLE OR I'LL CRY".

Hi.

I understand that mods have more important things to do than moderate a thing as non-critical to the operation of Disco as a user titles.

However, if this is the only reason for holding this innocent little indulgence from the public, well, I volunteer for the newfangled position of title moderator. I (or anyone else in that position) would do nothing but set (and moderate) user titles. This could be done without changing the current settings - it would just require a bit of trust.

I really don't understand why some people care so much about user titles. Sure, it was a thing long time ago, but so was the fact that the server was full almost every night and you'd have to wait 5 minutes to join. Point is, we can't do anything about either, so just deal with it and move on with your lives.
