It's more like recent feedback threads have been howls of anguish "Arrrgh I'm dying!" type things and this sets the negative vibe for the whole thread. Feedback should be just feedback, without the faction themselves agonising about their situation in front of everyone.

You can voice your opinion about whatever you have on your mind about the faction itself in those threads (feedback), that's it.

Well if that is the case, what is the point? What can ever be achieved from these threads other than "Hey I don't like that you did this" / "Ok" ?

I am being serious here.

Point one is, you might get an answer, maybe even a discussion and any of the other things it primarly isn't for i mentioned. But that's not up to the person who gives the feedback, but to the person receiving the feedback. Again, people for some reason go into a feedback thread to post there with the expectation they are entitled to something.

Point two is that the feedback gets out there for the responsible people to see and make their own thoughts and considerations about it, but once again the feedback poster isn't entitled to get involved in any of those processes.
And if the responsible people disagree, then they disagree. Simple as that, no means no, even if people disagree and don't like it. Factions aren't there to cater to everyone's personal and individual wishes - that's quite impossible to begin with.

Well the way I look at it, I was hoping we could say "Hey I don't like what you did there" and the other part could go "Why?" instead of "gtfo". We aren't a lot of people still playing, its worth listening to what one another has to say, instead of getting so overly defensive. It's just a game.

I certainly feel entitled to voice my opinion as a player, just like I feel every other player is entitled to do so, yes.

Like even now, I raise a question in a feedback thread and get asked to send a PM. That I do, asking for a specific question, only to receive a curt answer about how not to spam the inbox. Can it get anymore undelightful?

I still didn't get any answer.

Now I am in a situation where I can neither get one here nor there, and the other party pretend they've answered everything.

What is the point in feedback then?

but for me at least feedback helps me grow as a faction leader to fix things. So it is good in a way. I wont agree with all feedback but ye

I didn't disagree with you being entitled to your opinion and voicing it. But for that feedback threads aren't even needed. If I had serious concerns with a faction I wouldn't need a feedback thread, but could put the effort in to find out who to contact directly for the important issue I believe to have. Then I could voice my opinion and once again the feedback rules apply, that I am not entitled to anything.

I can only talk about the feedbacks I followed or was involved myself in recently, but usually feedback tends to go on a personal level quite fast, sometime even in the initial post, where all hope for anything productive is lost to begin with.
Sometimes it's because of miscommunication other times because one party goes right away in the conversation with the intention to "hurt" or "discredit" the other party for whatever reason. That's usually a point where the feedback discussion ends for me (if it ever had a chance to start).

I just don't understand why it has to be so toxic. Afterall at the end of the day we are playing with each other and not against one another, no matter what sides our ships are on. That makes feedback a positive thing essentially. If someone is blunt in their feedback, then so what? I'd much rather like that than someone playing at being a politician.

If I look at the recent feedback you posted: You posted a blunt concern (fine), said it wasn't a big deal to begin with, you got a clear answer to how and why, you continued the discussion, got another clear answer and then kept discussing about the "not big deal".
Which for me falls under the point "hungry for internet-discussions" and just like in this thread noone is obliged to satisfy your need for that and even more so feedback threads - as i pointed out earlier - aren't supposed for that.

It isn't toxic, just because someone doesn't feel like (continueing) talking to you after they read/responded to your feedback and feel everything was said. Once again, false entitlement/expectations.

And with those words, I think I'll eject from this particular thread.

Don't get me wrong, but exactly this attitude is what makes feedback threads so problematic.

The basic Idea is a good one. I usually only post constructive feedback, if ever, and even if that is a negative concern it usually stays civil from my side. I do not say that they should be taken away, it is just the community that needs to evolve away from the attitude of 'I am always right, you are always wrong'. Feedback threads, in general, are a good thing. The way they are used is bad, and perhaps there should be a rule about that... Although I am not quite sure how such a rule could look.
