Following this idea just remove weapons from all stations. Wait stationary BSs and weapon platforms too.
Oh! Almost forgot about radiation! It can make people complaining about being unable to fight in a few places too.
Maybe asteroids because they can hit them in combat...
Oh well and NPCs too because they can disrupt interactions.
Then live in safe heaven, with full systems to interact in and with 10 pirates in orbit of Hattan with literally no way to stop them. Nowdays they're at least 5k away.

Really, removing defences lacks in common sense. If unlawfuls really want to hug lawful facilities just make them neutral to everything and use tags to find them in crowd...

If you decide to remove the weaponary off the docking rings of gates, then consider the gates a forsaken place, which no trader or miner will ever go close
People will see that gates are same as lanes, (no protection from piracy) so simply they wont use it anymore and use other jump holes maybe, or check the players list 24/7 before any move
and by that, interactions will go down and this is not the purpose of the RP server.

We really need to stop putting everything on traders, it's the only "class" in the game that people are forced into, it's like that pooproll in many games that you have to spend ages playing to unlock the roles that you actually want to play, but it's worse than that because not only do people have to do it for credits they are also told by all of us that they have to do more rp and not avoid interaction, when all many want is to get it over and done with as quickly and with as little waste of their rl personal time as possible, we don't live forever so why not let us enjoy the small amount of time we get instead of filling it with grinding.


On topic, are jumpgates actually considered to be safe places against pirates? I don't think i've ever seen a pirate that was afraid of those turrets.

This thread is about planet docking rings, not jumpgates.

My apologies, i thought it's about the Jumpgates, although it don't make a difference.
Still if no protection beside planets, then no trader or miner will go there, even if you put the highest sell point there.
They will simply do other routes and will choose to sell to bases instead of planets so they can at least have some protection instead of tons of pirates or unlawfuls waiting there for them to try to dock and kill them there. OR unlawfuls who want to dock to their planets, will find lawfuls sitting next to the planet unharmed and waiting for them to come close to dock then kill them

give me blues please. those snarky characters that sit in 'hattan's orbit piss me off so much i want to make them miserable.

also why are you crying, 'hattan got Long Island PoB Defenses. I suggest not removing docking ring weaponry off of capital planets, but do remove the missiles because those make certain cells to reproduce and give a life-threatening disease.
