what if we increase the distance from planets/station to trade lanes? that will create a safe place for both lawfuls and unlawfuls alike

increase trade lanes length in general because most of them are too short and traders/lawfuls can just see a red target even before entering the lane

People want to believe that God has a plan for them.
They don't wanna believe that anyone else does..

If you expect sportsmanship, go to conn. This is not an E-sport, and it's not supposed to be.

You're deviating from the topic, though - back on topic please Smile

And the whole thing of "oooh but my life will be of dyings if i get ship blown up!!!!" has gone null. As I've seen lately, RP chars that got their ship blown up in combat usually get their escape pods "tractored" by their allies or just run away in the pod itself(Probably thrusters on the pod itself).
We won't kill our characters that easily with one single blue. So do your environment a favour and just get blued. It won't harm anyone and it's much better than denying a blue for someone that could possibly get Sodium Chlorided (Damn you filter).
You are right now showing exactly these differences in mindset I mentioned. "Get your crap RP thing off me, I want my blue!"
It is like in the boxing. If one win on points and not K.O. style, is it lesser win (or no win even)? For some it is, for some not. And docking vs blue message is exactly the same.

By the way like I said, now I give people their blues mostly because I´m such nice person which let others satisfy their ego.

On a ragebreak. Or ragequit. Time will tell.

Last comment on this as we are actually derailing the topic.
People who have the sense to RP don't really want to bother with PvP , yet fe. I am usually forced into that, cause I somehow manage to find the trigger happy bunch 90% of times. So what am I suppose to do than ? After some time, I on purpose try my best not to give a blue for the pvp-happy bunch, cause .. why should I ?

Back on topic, I voted to keep thins as they are, cause "why fix what ain't broken". I'm pretty sure having 1 planet in every house with pretty well armed deffences isn't a gmae changer. If this whole thing is about capital planets only that is. But as far as I noticed, the rest of either stations or docking rings don't have that much firepower that you couldn't just dodge.

To be honest, I don't think there's anything wrong with the system as it is. Planets are supposed to be the place where most people live and will reside at, thus the need for security has to be equally high. That especially goes for enemy fighters, since those tend to be the hardest to take down and to evade. With the missiles, though, people can feel safe around what is supposed to be a safe zone. It's not like you're supposed to be going there as a pirate or if you are from a hostile faction. Unless you're mindless and have no sense of living of course!

Sportsmanship is an all around agreement that the sport/game/whatever should be fair and fun for everyone. It's a thing that you learned to accept in your childhood whenever you were playing with the other kids. And because of that it is part of life, it is socially accepted to be fair. And good sportsmanship might lead to better encounters. Maybe next time they won't immediately jump to PvP, maybe you'll write a novel consisting of 50 pages throwing text back at each other, is a good thing innit?

And if planetary defenses do get removed. Should someone kill you in a few moments after you docked, just file for trolling and harassment. Because camping a base with the purpose of throwing /l1 and /l2 and instantly blueing someone is clearly harassment and douchebaggery.

also yes lets close on this mini-topic we started ourselves and return to the original one

So if you get constantly killed by pvp-w**res , that spells fun in your dictionary. Good to know.
Why is filling a report against someone easier than keeping things as they are ? Would give less work to admins and less qq for everyone. Also, what is stopping anyone to keep trolling after a sanction ? Happened before and will happen again, even with capital planet weapons exsist. Why do you want to make matters worse ?

You could try NOT getting into a pvp situation if you constantly get blued yourself and don't enjoy it, you know? Never said that i'm against avoiding PvP in the first place, only that PvP should end with a blue and no base docking at the end/purposely shieldrunning to a system wall or malicious of the type.
You people always go into specifics and never realize that certain situations need certain measures. It's just a general guideline.

Also you contradicted your own statement Tongue

And let's finally close this mini-topic, shall we?

Your problem with this mini-topic and the base topic itself is suffering from the same thing. This "removal" would be to ensure there is little to no way of evading PvP ... which is already difficult enough, due to the kind of players who see nothing but a blue in anyone who has guns on their ships. ( Basically everyone ) . So the general guideline you are trying to set is , if I want, I can evade getting shot at, but if I do get shot at, even if I wanted to evade it, at least stand still and give the man his blue ... and you call this fun ...

You are right, we should close this mini discussion, cause it just reminds me of what I got fed up with the last time I took a break Tongue

I voted for the option A and here are the reason why.

Firstly, docking rings with missiles on capital planets are there for a reason.
Other weapons on planets with docking rings aren't good enough to repel enemy forces away from the planet, especially capital planets.

Secondly, removal of weapons from docking rings would be bad for the game/community, 5-6 pvphoes park above Malta/Crete/Manhattan or any other capital planet and kill everything that moves. That would just cause frustration and unnecessary drama.
The argument that the defenders can easily bring enough people to defend the home planet is apsurd. Playerbase is so low right now that if they pay you a visit before 20:00UTC you would pretty much be the only defender.
Also, if those 5-6pvp aces visit your capital planet, you would need atleast 10 people to have a chance of defending it, good luck bringing so many people.
And I won't even start about how it is wrong camping above those planets inRPly.

Lastly, the universe is big. You don't need to go capital planets to seek activity. There are so many places where you can pewpew without planetary missiles shooting you.
