because i'm claustrophobic i really don't being in 2 by 2 places,if you know what i mean

that and being the target of a ddos it means you only have 1 ip/machine to worry about while the attackers have a lot more to generate the bandwidth required to take us out

That's not how it works. A DDoS-service is hired and you won't just easily find out by whom. Don't expect our good people here to hack someone just because you can't play your game for some days. It will be over sooner or later, just have enough patience.

Hey guys,

I'm kinda new here, but I've been reading the some of the latest posts. It is obvious the server crashing by those 'DDoS attacks' has something to do with the people recently banned. I've met my share of guys wanting to help me out as a newbie, as well as those who'd just make me quit playing the game for a few hours. I can't really say I've met any of the banned individuals and I know the majority of the 'old-school' players here want an explanation why the bans were issued, so did I at first. But if there's some hard evidence that these people are, in fact, involved in ruining the gameplay by crashing the server for the rest of the players, I don't believe I even want to see the 'in-game proof'. Then again we can't be sure in the involvement of these guys at all.

That being said, and if you people think about it, do you really believe the person/people responsible for the DDoS attacks should ever be allowed to play on this server again, because I most definitely do not. And to the people spending time and resources for making all of this happen I just wanna say one thing: If you can't have something, don't ruin it for others, it's a trait of weak human beings.

Cheers

A DDOS attack is a bought service which includes the usage of a pre-existing infected PCs which is called a botnet. Botnet rentals for DDOS attacks are cheap these days and you do not have to be tech-savvy to set it up. For the sake of a simple explanation, it is simply a person with extra money to burn and who is throwing it at some of the more popular botnet services in order to annoy us.

I would, however, highly suggest that you refrain from pinning the blame on the recently banned individuals, because it is quite obvious that these people are hoping to return and such a move from their side would be counterproductive. It is most likely a member who has seen the recent drama on the forums and decided to throw oil in the fire for their lulz.

My earlier statement remains, just do not give them the attention they are trying to coax from the community. We get DDOSed every couple of months, it really is not a big deal as it once was.

Yeah, you're right, I'm not trying to blame it on the guys that got banned, I just hope those responsible evolve mentally.

This statement hits the nail right on the head. I have no doubts not a single one of those people would step as low as that, regardless of how i view some of them.
Alley already confirmed that it isnt the banned members doing this if i remember correctly, so thats one.
They are lobbying to be allowed back, and this wouldnt put them in a good light with anyone.
Dont give the guys the satisfaction of us suffering from this DDoS attack. In due time it will stop again. I bet someones mother is going to be really snappy because their poor little kid spend hundreds of dollars to DDoS a game. Just play something else in the meanwhile, enjoy yourself, but dont get caught up worrying about it now. Its not worth it giving them the satisfaction they are aiming for.

This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.

@sindroms ... Hey Spazzy, Don't defend them and don't lay blame on them, since no one knows exactly who is doing it
Also, please for the love of god, think about this ... 6 banned on a day, then since that time till now the server, TS and forums are under DDOS attack
please again ... don't make people angry and maybe try to think for how can we stop that instead of your defense to your friends.
Btw, i have nothing against you and i am not accusing them but who ever can't see the light through the sieve is indeed blind !

Now back to topic, i heard that there is something called "Filters" which are expensive but they can stop DDOS attacks, so anyone got a clue?
I am not a fan of being hit and do nothing !! i can spend up to hundreds of cash inorder to stop this barbaric attacks! ... the problem is that my info about such a shitty DDOS thing is ZERO
so help if you know anything to stop that.

This isn't the first time this has happened over the years. It's probably the same people from the other half a dozen times.
