You're probably better off building Invicta v2, that could generate some nice activity if you make people participate in its construction.
As for punishments, Laz suffered the consequences of what he did and it's not like he's coming back any time soon.
Okay.
But, would the outcome be any different if there was a backup of the base available?

It's quite late to even get around it tbh, but idk, for some reason the admin team could have accepted to do it. I'm merely telling you why they wouldn't be able to do it even if they wanted to.

We both know a base can be made without a backup. Regardless, we're back to square one.
As you said, even if they wanted. Well, why wouldn't they? Apparently a base can be restored for much less than what I've provided as evidence.
It just feels kinda... unfair.
And yes, I don't have my hopes up for restoration.
We will, at some point rebuild, that's a fact.
Thinking back on the subject, I seem to recall that a discussion was held, regarding this subject, not long after the Base was destroyed.
Now, Laz's Sanction, in which he was indefinitely Banned, was on the 2nd of July and the Ships were restored (most of them) on the same day as an Admin spent quite a bit of time finding them all.
The Base,in question, lived another 5 Days after this event, as can be see here:
07/07/2016 13:47:40 : Base Invicta Research Complex destroyed
If I also remember, correctly, this Base, like quite a few still going today, play the little Game of 'we don't need to supply it regularly, we just wait for it go down to a set level of health and then thrown some Repair Materials on'.
The reason some Base Owners take this way of doing things is probably the Base Attack Rules say that 24 hour notice has to be given and therefore there is plenty of time to slap on a load of Repair Materials very quickly (these are more than likely already stored on Ships docked on the Base).
Bases take quite a long time to degrade to where they will 'blow up' and it doesn't happen in 5 days.
So I believe this is the reason why the decision was made not to restore it.
'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person

Before you go "lol tough luck" you should probably take a look into what actually occurred. Though I find it funny you wouldn't know what happend given the idea popped out of the Order| and its HC and a lot of the ships were given to the order HC.
but of course why would we ban ace shizune golly shaggy and everyone else involved
I mean uh but of course that would never carry any repercussions.
Iirc you're in order but I don't know if you're part of the HC.
Oh, ouch... I'm part of a faction thus I'm responsible for everything that happens as a result of that faction... How many factions are you a part of again, Wesker? Unofficialy counts as well. AND on the topic of base destruction... do you really have any right to discuss such things?
