Your main idea was a kind of torpedo lancher for cap ? That's it ?!
I LOVE IT, but remeber something, torpedos can be fired at... That would be awesome ! : "I hope your escort is good enough to shoot THIS ! *schtonk* *torpedo.approaching*"
*BOAM !*
"OUCH ! Looks like no..."
OK for gentle RP, OK for gentle PvP too. What do you prefer ?
Hurk hurk hurk...

No blast radius based weapons in Freelancer, EVER!
Why?
The blastradius is insignificantly when there is no matter and no O2 to expand into (space is "made" of vaccum)? The only way a real nuke might work in space in accuall reallity is if your enemy had a hull breach and was leeking atmospheare, and that would allow a blast to enter the ship.
And there is no shockwave either, but the radiation is enough to kill an entire crew quite fast.
Then again, fire a "futuristic" nuke in an ice cloud and you'll have a radius of tens of km. Dense fluidic matter is exellent for a big nuke bang.
We still have to allow some small blasts in freelancer weaponry to give us some more intressting dogfights.
Hm, antimater weapons are way more efficient then nukes... why on earth would you bother with such old weapons...

@ Thompson: Nuclear explosions are fission reactions which split the nuclei of the warhead into smaller nuclei, usually stopping somewhere in the region of lead, and it's isotopes, in the periodic table. They do not consume oxygen as a part of the reaction.
That being said, if we can fly Armoured Battleships into suns (nuclear fission reaction I know, but still exothermic) with remarkably little damage being dealt to them, then why the hell would anyone worry about a nuke. The fact is that the way damage is scaled at the moment, hitting a ship with a Nova Antimatter Cannon shot, is the equivalent to setting off another Big Bang.
