Here is one of the articles....

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2018/03/27/micro...e-account/

Note that this is a result of a pair of US laws holding service providers liable for content that moves through their net as shown in the last two paragraphs of the article.

So, lets suppose that on some chat service....messenger, discord ...whatever..... we are roleplaying out a scenario where the characters involved swear allot, talk about smuggling illegal contraband into the NY system and having intercourse with Ponies/Furries.

Now, we all know that it is RP about a space game.....But now, that RP can now be used to look into your accounts/Cloud stored data based simply on the language and the fictional crime and cyber being RPd out.

How will they differentiate between Fiction and Reality? And they wont.. they will use the new regs and any small excuse to look deeper into someones account....not like they do not anyway, but now they can decided what is permissible and what is not, what is news and what is not, what is offensive and what is not, besides the fact that the big Tech companies are clamoring for these new regulations to have a legal excuse to look into your stuff and not look like sell outs.

I sincerely doubt anything is actually going to happen, but why are you using Skype for any sensitive conversations to begin with?

I do not. I have not used it for years since its vulnerabilities became obvious , and.....I do not have sensitive conversations over the internet. It does not have to be a sensitive conversation, it could be fictional roleplay where language and subject matter is misconstrued and used as an excuse to "Look" into your private accounts.

This post was made, to let people know of the changes in the Terms of Use of some of the more widely used software products in that companies library. Like "Office" or "Skype" or "Cloud". The change applies to the entire catalog....not just Skype.

This is very likely an update to legally cover their asses. They know better than anyone it cannot be enforced.

We can always switch to discord when this becomes the case.
