i have found another advantage of the train CD is that it does not "overturn" in "excitement of the target". a mosquito should have a better at tracking, but ends up making funny circles around the target. - the train CD is a bit more lazy - and as a result hits better.
i tried the mosquito once on my fighter - cause my fighter is hardly interested in stopping a warship - but more interested in stopping other small crafts without attracting too many friendlies, but i ended up with the train again, cause it was the only one that hit.
I agree the Train CD is the only one that actually works well enough to be practical for anything it does have some downsides as well but at least it actually stops ships when it hits them. The other CDs should be boosted a bit to try and make them do the same without as much area effect.
Speaking of CDs in a few fights I have fired them at someone to try and cut their manoeuvrability down a tad temporarily but occasionally I get an Instant kill like that is that because they are firing missiles or something similar?
rather not missiles - or it must be a very good timing, - but if they dropped a nuke mine, they can easily blow up ( if they fly vanilla ships ) - a reason why i equip all my ships with "only" screamer mines" ( besides, they are equally effective and only half as expensive:laugh:. - but yea ... firing a CD at missile ships is a tactic. ...
had to to feel its effect, cause i rely on missiles, - mind, it only locks me down for some time - it doesn t really blow me up much ( BHG bomber is no vanilla ship, so no real harm done ) - fighting in a hammerhead is different. - i blew myself up that way sometimes ( dropping nuke mines and CDing them in the enemies face [ but not being aware that half my mines were still too close to me ] )

I can recall one incident of it happening to a bomber (Havoc if I've remembered right) I wasn't sure what happened at the time I fired a CD and the ship just exploded it was a very brief I was thinking maybe it was a missile or a nova torpedo but it could have been a Nuclear mine. Guess there is no way to be sure now I should have checked his loadout at the time I will if it ever happens again to me.
I've killed myself with mines quite a few time in light fighters as well easily done and a very quick death.
Three months ago, when I was flying as LH.Refrigerator (that guy must have been a real pain) it the Pirate Transport, I had someone trying to take me down in a Barghest near Cortez Jump Gate in California....
He cut my shield to about a half, but then he passed away.
Because he thought he can outsmart me by firing a pair of Novas at me...
The first one hit my shield and his shield was down as my transport gave him a bite. I CD'd the second pair of novas and picked up the tons of loot...
Beware, Nukes & CD's are a deadly tactic, especially when used by a coordinated gang of light fighters. I bet Hackers didn't forget that so I'd really be careful when fighting their new recruits;)
The reinforced CD should be made equal to the train... It seems really messy to fly a BS with a puny train CD...

Yeah, I had a guy try to revenge kill me in his bh bomber. He fired 2 nova torps and I fired a train cd, poof. Got a good laugh and made fun of him for his attempt at a revenge kill. (I killed him in his trans, same name, for not dropping 50 units of boron as Basilisk.)
