what bugs me with the whole discussion is that people forget that its not an "against eachother" but a "together" here. when the community splits into groups that fight outside of their characters, its really going downhill. - fighting inChar and inRP is fine though.
compromises have to be made. - every ( ! ) player is an individual person and should be treated like that. - that means, rules are fine, but every case must be evaluated seperately. - but the evaluation should not happen one sided, but in cooperation WITH the person. ( we do want them to improve and don t want to scare them away, don t we? ) - thats why i d like to see a closer cooperation between those people who are rejected and those who rejected to get them inline. - thats how a "together" works... .

Unfortunately, not everyone is willing to comprimise. In this case, instead of being angry, just role play the anger, and the situation. Often, this makes you feel better anyway:P
It is true, the Benitez do have 3 Cruisers (The Rhea (Ximen), the Cronus (Carlos) and the Atlas (Zavier)).
However, these Cruisers are lucky if they get used once every 2 months, and I'm perhaps a little ashamed to admit I don't think the Cronus has ever seen battle.
We also have the Prometheus (Shared Dread) and the Talos (Shared Osiris). I don't believe either have seen battle in months, and the Prometheus in particular is almost never used.
The Talos has been logged on quite regularly in recent weeks, for afew minutes at a time. The reason for this is that we've expanded the Talos' prison deck, and basicly we're collecting enemy pilots such as BHG in our Titans, and bringing them to the Talos for torture and interrogation.
We have a shared gunboat, and around 3 or 4 private ones within the ranks, and I'm proud to say that as far as I'm aware, we are the least likely Corsair clan to be found driving gunboats or other capitals.
We use Titans almost exclusively, and occasionally Bombers if the occasion calls for it. In defence of the Brotherhood, they can say the same.
Although you might occasionally see Corsair capitals in Gamma, making their presence known, I'd challenge you to gather enough evidence to complain that we take them into battle too often. I was talking to Montoya only recently about how the legendary Battleship Talos has become something of a "living museum" as it never sees action, and this has been part of the justification behind expanding it's use as a detention facility; with capitals never seeing battle, it is good for little else.
Dab, whilst I enjoy the complements, you may be a little ill-informed. As far as I am aware, the Benitez refused to be associated with the Warship Registration Act not due to small details in it's text, but because Indipendants where not given the chance to be involved in it's formulation.
We are prepared to accept such a proposal after it has been re-formulated with respected Indipendants such as Ben Laowai or Benito Huarez involved in the drafting process. It is the belief of a good chunk of our familia that it is not moral to force legislation onto indipendants without offering them any kind of a say.
I too am a little confused about the fundamental differences between the Brotherhood-OPG policy and the Outcast one, which you suggest exist.
I don't agree with registration of capital ships at all. That doesn't mean I won't play along - although not as it stands. I have read the Outcasts version and whilst I don't like it, it seems to me to have been thought out fully. The group (101st?) who have demanded registration of Outcast caps owns the system with the shipyard. Fairly crucial I'd say. If you want one, you gotta get permission. Thats just geography - bloody handy, but geography non the less.
The same cannot be said for Tripoli. It is in the Corsair home system of Gamma, a system with no official 'owner'. On that basis, there is no-one group who can give permission.
Time for a re-think, maybe some diplomacy and not flames.
Don't worry, in light of all this the policies are all being reworked to be a lot more friendly. Despite claims to the contrary, the intent was to help, not be total bastards.

I don't think everyone trying to eliminate indie BS's (and there is still a push to only allow guard ID's to fly BS's in the next version, right? Or did I misread that) and register cruisers is a total bastard, but I do have some concerns that policy isn't always well thought out and is a bit one sided.
1. There has to be a good definition of whoring, across all ships, so that everyone is working from the same page.
2. If a policy is implemented, it should be clear how that policy is expected to reduce whoring or improve the server, and at what cost. If someone is supporting registration for instance, they should be able to offer a clear explanation of how it will positivity and negatively make an impact across the population of the server.
3. Discussions should be able to take place without personal insults, and it should be inclusive. It's one thing to question the logic of a policy, it's another to question the intelligence of a poster.
4. The server community is large, it involves all kind of players, many of whom are not heavily involved in the forums and there is no requirement to be active on the forums. Some respect should be shown that those that are absent from here but present on the server, not well represented here, or who choose to RP by ID on the server without posting rp here, at least until there is a forum rp requirement in the rules. Furthermore, some acknowledgment should be made that the server rules only restriction on cap ships is to limit any one player to a single battleship.
Even a slave counted as 3/5th of a person for representation, non faction and server only players should be thought of as more than slaves.
5. Some acknowledgment should be made that there is room for multiple rp to coexist here. No one group should have the right to control every storyline for a certain ID, or even want to. In real life there are conflicting storylines and objectives even between people under the same flag and there is plenty of room for that on the server as well.
6. Whoring does happen, if we acknowledge that it is undesired and that we should work to reduce it then that conversation should include everyone affected by policy and not just an elite section of the community. If one group is left out or underrepresented in a policy that affects them they will feel alienated, and then there is no community here, there is simply one group trying to impose its will on another.
