Money limit is 1 billion, which is about level 91, but you may go higher by having some valuable equipment I think. Though it's hardly required for anything.
Well (not trying to show off here as I know some people have more) I have aa char ranking 88 and that is about 850mill when you get that high it takes ages for each rank my trader is rank 80 and it only has 325mill. I might go and see what the max rank is by moving some cash around. ;)

Money influences your level, but WHAT you've done with your character influences your level much more.
