In case anyone is interested, I was pirated the other day by someone (a Rogue, I believe) demanding 3 million. I simply told him that was too steep and I'd pay him 1.5 mil. I expected to either be refused or to have to haggle, but he actually agreed! - he didn't seem to want to hang around long. Of course, not every pirate (and certainly not a Xeno) will be so agreeable, but I encourage you all to require more from pirates if it seems safe to do so. In my book, if they want our money, they're going to have to work for it a bit harder.

Grim tidings people, the boss and the crew of the Trafalgar are all recovering in NL medical.
I'll explain what happened.
Was doing a simple Boron/Berl run with the boss, all nice and quiet. Till we hit California. There we overheard a loudmouthed brute pirating some poor soul. Soon after, we heard the trader's comm channel turn to static. His vessel destroyed.
We arrived at the NY gate in California, only to be confronted by the wreckage of the trade vessel, and the brute, NLF_Highlands. Demanding all our cargo be dropped. As we were far from him, we decided to run. He caught up but seeminly his scanners were faulty, as he kept going on past us...
As we arrived back at the gate, he arrived via trade lanes. Kinda odd if ye ask me. He started attacking my ship, but I managed to escape via the gate. The Trafalgar however... *sigh*
Picked them up from West point, where they'd been dropped off after the navy had arrived. I picked the crew up, and headed for NL Medical, where I am at the moment.
Luckily, the crew survived. A couple with minor, and most with semi-major injuries. They should be fit for flying soon. Depends on how it goes here...
Also, Daisy is a good escort, kept us all safe on the trip back home. Might be joining our company. Wish her safe flying.
Keep an eye out for this brute. I'd recommend hiring escorts for any trips to Liberty.

Onto the matter at hand:
The Highland Pub has been opened to the public. Anyone wanting to relax and have a drink, or two, is welcome to come in and spend a couple of hours doing so. If you're going into space, though, be sure to have tea only, even if you're a Libertonian. Even a Rheinlander like me can understand how much better tea than coffee, how could they not?
Anyway, take some time, look around, and have a drink, you guys deserve it.

I'll start with the business part of this.
My new Eagle is now up and running, and after a few days of recovery, i also am ready to fly again.
Thanks for all the support, and thanks to you too, boss, for the teas, herbs and booze. They all helped in my recovery. That being said i hope i will be able to escort many of you again soon.
Another thank you I'd like to put out there is to all the members of the Board of Directors, who recently offered me a position in the Board. I'm happy to say that i accepted.

I understand our trader captains may not always be available for this, but for the most part, I expect us all to openly welcome any willing trader into our midst.
You should confirm beforehand that the trader has no criminal history or rep that might interfere with lawful trading to our usual destinations. Also, feel free to hire whatever protection is necessary if our own escorts are unavailable.

Good day all,
Had the joys of a proper gateway convoy yesterday. Nice ta do one again, have ta make them more often.
There was Fimmion and the boss on escort duty, and Morres, Bloom and myself in our fireflys, a very nice set up. We ran a simple Berl/Boron run, with a few nice comments about our convoy. Sadly there wasn't many traders in NY, so we had to stick to ourselves.
Encountered a lone gaian in Leeds, wanted us to donate. We declined, and seems they might try out something more aggressive in the future. So keep alert folks.
Also, on a side note, all employees should check out the new comms. Trade reports should still be reported on this channel though. And I'd like to hear what you fellers are up ta more often...
Oh, and Gunther, you owe me a few in the bar for my work in NY. Seems you and Mr. Idaho missed shipping inside Liberty, so I had to do some work in NY to find a decent return cargo for going to Rheinland.
